You can own a pose? Okay so basically your saying that the dog across the street that just leaped in the air with his front leg up legally belongs to you? :P LOL

that stuff annoys me

like yes if its OBVIOUSLY traced, then sure because thats stealing your work

but a pose and expression like the fuck??? you cant.. steal that??????

at the end of the day its impossible because the pixels will never be the same on every single drawing so technically every single one is different ;]

exactly. In my art class we even learn that 'everything is a remix'
with the elements of creativity being copy, transform, combine.

I literally seen people ATT AC K someone cause they had a character that shared a Saturn necklace with another character.
That was legit the only similarity and they got beaten ruthlessly for it.

Like I don't understand how someone can own a pose.. For every drawing of an anime girl throwing a peace sign theres like fifty more,, no one can just own that and be like "no one else can have peace signs just me!" thats like unfair

Like if someone draws a person with crossed legs and a smile.
and someone else draws a person with crossed legs and a smile, who doesn't even know the first person.
people on deviantart will literally attack the second person for ''copying them'' cause it was similar on accident.

Jeez thats pretty ridiculous, but i guess thats how people are sometimes... I think Ive heard of this happening before, pretty annoying to accuse someone of that

It happens with characters alot.
And usually they aren't that original.
Once I found an aquatic character with the same name as one I owned who was also aquatic themed and shared lots of similarities.

But I didn't attack them for it.
Infact I said how it was funny that two people could have such similar ideas.

It happens in the non digital world too. Once a company filled a lawsuit against another because a character was too similar to a concept sketch they made years ago that they never even used. :/

Thats mature of you! I havent seen anyone online that has got similar things to mine but Id try to not get mad about it either! And yeah companies and their lawsuits,, sometimes I feel like court is a way to make money instead of exacting justice lol

In this generation that's exactly what court is.
In canada a few years back someone literally sewed a coffee company //tim hortons// because she spilled her hot coffee on herself.
Now they have to put 'warning; hot' on the cups.

The same thing has happened to me a few times. I always just find it ironic and shrug it off

and call myself unoriginal

I know how you feel.
I have always suffered from feelings of originality.
I get diagnosed with a disorder and I actually get upset because 'I'm not even medically unique.'

But i've realized that even though everything has been done before, the thing you create is still unique, just because someone has had a character that looks the same as yours doesn't mean it's the same, it'll still be different in it's own ways.
