Okay! I have a dog, his name is Buster. He's a black and white American StaffordShire Bull Terrier x Bull Arab.
I also have fish! Two Rainbow Sharks. One Tetra. One Angel Fish. One Crayfish and.. Hundreds of baby Brown Spotted Catfish.
I'm a first time fish owner, so I did not know much about fish needs. When I first bought my fish, they were really happy. I ended up buying 3 catfish together, unaware of their gender. A couple months later, I discovered a ball of eggs laying on the bottom of the tank. And I was super stoked! I didn't think they would survive in the tank because I assumed a fish might eat the eggs. More months past and I discovered 3-4 baby catfish hanging around the filter. I almost cried with joy! I was so happy that I was able to provide the right conditions for my catfish to breed.
However... I soon discovered that there were more than just 4 babies.. Each week, more and more catfish spawned, over populating the tank. There were so many baby catfish that they could blanket the entire bottom of the tank. I almost cried at one point because I was not prepared to suddenly become a catfish breeder. Trying to remove the catfish was a massive task. And with nearly all of them gone, there are still a good 20 catfish still in my tank. So that's why I have a Crayfish and an Angel Fish in the tank to hopefully eat them.
I don't want to hurt the babies... I love all my fish but this was somewhat of crazy luck. If I were a catfish breeder, I probably hit the jackpot.
