Unity Cube by DeepChrome Unity Cube by DeepChrome
Apophysis 2.02 with text and framing added in Adobe Photoshop 7.0. No scripts were used. I just set Variations to Sinusoidal, and put Symmetry at bilateral. The rest was triangles and gradients.

And of course, this is yet another of my fractalized homages to the Borg from Star Trek. :D Enjoy.

Thanks. :D I'm gonna try and do some more like these. Cubic Element was my sequel to that, but it didn't quite have the wow factor Unity Cube did. :O_o:

Wow....that actually looks like a physical photograph...like it could exists!! But as for the Borg referance, I don't see it; to me it expresses a perfect future where PS2, GameCube and X-BOx become one system :B-): now all we're missing is a dreamcast:P

Gokulio, the Borg combine technologies. What you're suggesting would TAKE a Borg to do. :faint:

:evileye: Hmm, the colors would fit 70s retro a little too well. I see what you meant.

Oh well. Off to make morg Borg fractals I guess. :giggle:

i ment in the menu (i have the same program), but i got it now. =D
do you know if you can make your own gradiant?

Dead center, straight through. It's a bilateral fractal, and the settings for that is straight through the center. ;)

In the Gradients window...you can see a little box that looks like a red to orange gradient. Click it. It'll ask you for a document...select some image that has bright bold colors. It'll make a gradient based on that picture for you. :D

Neato job. I picture it as the top half of a cube. Probably a little too yellow in it for total assimilation<i/>, but it looks awesome.=p

Thanks. Well, the Borg use yellow and green both a lot. And plain greens just didn't look right on this fractal. So in the yellow went. :D

Sure did!! I have a couple flames that have a squareness to them but none like yours.

It was that one flame in a couple hundred where when I puttered with the triangles, I got a variation that was ALL squares. And it's not easy--a lot of sinusoidal (box shaped) ones tend to have curves and whatnot inside of them. :faint: But it was FUN trying to find one that worked! :w00t:

I know how that is. I've been trying to get a flame that's even remotely close to the ones Rhiannon and Gibson125 get. Yet to succeed. LOL

 Yep. It's so flexible. What people wouldn't even REALIZE is a fractal can be rendered and put up for all to see. And you get so many options of manipulating and altering it within Apo that it truely goes beyond just a hobby making pretty pictures, into the realm of art.

Now it's going to give me nightmares! The Borg were just the baddest baddies in space! There is something in this -- the glow, the transparency, the squareness -- that just reeks of the lifelessness of the Borg and all that the suck into their universe. Isn't channeling Apo fun??? :sprint:

 I was TRYING to get that sense of utter order, cold precision into that piece. And of course, what better gradient than one with the classic Borg power signatuer colors in it? I tried greys for the background, but bleh. Uber-deep green worked better. Maybe my next Borg homage will finally include some of that lifeless metallic gray....I've yet to get a gradient that cooperated with me in that area. :dead:

Thanks Goldey! :D I've been trying to get a decent Borg-themed fractal out of Apo for ages. It has a tendency to whisper "resistance is futile" in my mental ear every time I putter with a project like that....seriously. :altermind: So I usually have to resist and keep pecking at it. :D This is the first one I think really got l'espirit de Borg in it. Finally. :D
