TRAPPIST-1 by DeepChrome TRAPPIST-1 by DeepChrome
Inspired by the newly discovered TRAPPIST-1 system. The other worlds were said to be visible from any of the planets, so I incorporated that. The sun was said to be a super-cool dwarf the size of Jupiter. Astronomers also estimate the planets orbit their sun with one face tidally locked toward it, so I figured the weather would be pretty bland on the sunny side with few clouds.

The only real sci-fi element is the glowing pink crystals.

Great to see some new stuff.

Remember that space is black, so the shadowed side of a planet should never be darker than the sky.

Yeah, I was having trouble getting that to stand out properly without losing it in the atmospheric gradient around the sun. In hindsight, I probably should've pushed for a little more bright on the bright side so I could drop the darkside down in intensity.

I usually keep the shadow side the same color as the atmosphere for that exact reason. Thing is the shadowed side can sometimes be lit by other light sources (nebulae, the planet the moon is orbiting, etc) - but not super brightly. It just depends on the environment. And in this case, yeah.
