Semi Combustible DevID by DeepChrome Semi Combustible DevID by DeepChrome
I wanted to upgrade my ID for a while, but I hadn't any good ideas until I realized that since I draw my stuff rather than fractal it, it was time to go for a drawn avatar.

Some of you might recognize this as an upgraded version of the picture I did of myself in my concept for the Combustible Lemons. Of course I had to be holding one. :D Since my current avatar also involves a Combustible Lemon, it fit.

I went with a similar purple background to echo the avatar as well.

Since this was a tweak of an existing image, it didn't take me very long to make it. :D Enjoy.

And the combustible lemons belong to Valve.

... either you have the hand of a copy machine, or you used a copy machine or some sort...

No, I used copy-paste of a section of the original, and then overpainted on top of it for the new ID.

... knew it.

pardon, but that was too perfect a copy, that's why i asked.

if you feel ashamed over it, feel free to hide these comments, and i'll understand.

... if you figure that it is the 21st century and people should get used to laziness, i understand that too.

Nah, it's nothing like that. Most times I do just hand-copy stuff, and generally I can be good at that.

BUT, I wanted to use an existing picture people had already seen anyways, because I wanted the combustible lemon part in there.

So, I can go either way. It's just in this case, having a recognizable picture I'd already drawn was what I was after. So I used copy-paste and enhanced the end result. I did bolden the lines up on it by hand, since they were pretty thin in comparison when I got it sorted.

I honestly don't really care about tracing vs. hand-drawn. No real embarrassment or shame there.

(answers from bottom to top)

good to hear. :)

familiar things seem to be what people like these days.... that is why there are new movies like TRON, superman, batman, all of the Marvel movies, Shrek 4, etc. (they kinda get on my nerves, honestly). i don't blame you for using the same picture twice. especially if you improved it. :D

i try to stay open to others' opinions.

well, again, nice job.

Yeah I don't wholesale *reuse* something without tweaking it. And it looked kinda dull in its corner of the lemons pic anyways. I figured if I was gonna use it, I'd have to improve it. :D

And yeah, after a while I want to see something new in the theaters. Now some stuff I don't mind them remaking, but some remakes I don't really need. Or some sequels.
