Pristine Morning by DeepChrome Pristine Morning by DeepChrome
Deep within the desert, the sun rises above a rocky outcropping, casting its already hot glow upon the sand. Nary a traveler has been seen, and the dunes remain undisturbed. Nature's serenity reminds us all of how the world once was before humans overran much of the land.

Terragen, latest version, with Photoshop 7.0 for subtle contrastwork, cropping, and jpg conversion.

Are saying this isn't a photograph?

Yes. It was made in a program called Terragen, which is for 3D landscape renderings.

Really good artists--and I'm not there yet with this program--can make a landscape look frighteningly like a photo. I just got lucky with the way this one came together so well. Yes, I was aiming for something like this, but you know, it could've gone much worse.

Oh wow! I didn't know there was such a program! I'm not computer literate, LOL

You seem literate enough if you can browse and comment on DA. ;)

Yeah, I suppose your right. I'm just not THAT computer literate then. I don't really know if I want to be either. I get headaches sitting in front of screens of any kind for too long so I don't really want to get into digital art so much.

Have you tried fiddling with the screen's brightness settings and resolution?

Sometimes screens at low resolution with high brightness can be extremely painful to look at.

Hmmm...from another perspective, this could translate as a morning sunrise in a wintary mountain, but that's my opinion...I really liked the shadows. This looks like a beautiful setting...for DBZ fight!!! THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM!!! :p

A little advice on tweakage....don't be afraid to adjust your sunlight to a color other than white sometimes. ;) It adds that extra...punch. :D

yeah, actually, if you look at some of my terragen work, you'll see that i've done quite a bit of tweakage to the sunz...

 Yep. I love tweaking sunlight. Some of my Terragens are intended to be alien landscapes. Doesn't always work.

It's a desert. What the hell else are you supposed to feel in a desert after "Hey, those dunes look cool."
