Yup, the first fractal in a WHILE.

This came out of messing with spherical and noise, and with a Final Transform FX (a feature in Apo 2.04beta that just kicks ass) in sinusoidal and fan variations. Turned out pretty damn cool for my first try, so you'll definitely see more out of me with this.

However, this was a total bitch in render time. I started with it at about 3-4 am-ish, and it didn't finish until 8-something PM today. :O_o: The noise portion and the fact that I didn't zoom out very far just complicated things. And this was at 3200 pix across. :faint:

But it was definitely worth the extra rendertime, because it looks FANTASTIC. I only had to do a little blurring here and there to deal with some very subtle jaggies, and that was it.

This is also one of very few I've done that a border would do absolute injustice to in my mind. It just....demanded to take center scene. :D So the title and the subtle blurring in certain areas was the only postwork.

Enjoy!

Thank you. :bows: What was your favorite part of the fractal?

The fact that it reminds me of fan blades in an jet engine (yes I am a nerd why do you ask ma'am). ;P

The "variation" of one of the final-transforms that I did to this fractal--which explains its "fan" shape--is called fan. ;)

I have an account. I just need to tolerate the insanely long upload time of bigger files. X_x I have an improved vidcard now, I just need to take the time to "blow up" some of the others to improved sizes, and see how they fare.

But yeah, you're right. Prints time. :dead: That's if I ever get off my lazy butt and DO them.

Thanks. I do check DA daily. I just don't post as much artwork as often as I used to. I must be in some inspiration slump or something. Heh. :sweatdrop:

Very nice,

It's a much smoother style than your other ones, and really gives a feeling of peace and, well, it reminds me of wind.

Good color, and form,

I think there's a little bit too much dark space up to to the right, but other than that, it's very solid.

I'm in total agreement about the dark space. I think if I did it over again I'd have moved it up a touch. ;)

Thanks for your compliments on my new style. Apo 2.04beta has given me a few more options in terms of what I can do, so now I've a whole new world of fractal-putzing to get into. :D

Thanks. :) Yeah, actually the variation on the final transform was linear and fan....so I find it funny that you said it looked like a fan. ;)

:) Cool. I like to think everyone will take their own impression of the fractal with them. And when I look at it now, it makes me think a little of sheer fabric fluttering in the breeze, especially near the upper left-hand side.

Thanks for your comment.

What program do you use. I see my bro making fractals and now it's strange because now i want to try! I'm a very adventurious artist i like to do it all.

Apophysis. It can be found on sourceforge if you plug Apophysis into the software search criteria.

I think it's sourceforge.net/project/apophysis, but I'm not entirely sure on that address. The current version is 2.04beta. I've been using Apo since late 2004, I believe. It's come a ways since then with a lot more interesting variations, and now the "final transform."

It's also freeware so it won't cost you a dime to get. ;)
