Gwyn-Raven Family Tree by DeepChrome Gwyn-Raven Family Tree by DeepChrome
Some of you might have noticed the individual character sketches for this in my scraps.

Anyways, I'll give a more complete run-down as this is a full picture.

I've always loved Anne McCaffrey's sci-fi books. It started with The Ship Who Sang (who, along with every other brainship, is in bad need of fanart), and moved on to the Pegasus book series, which began her Talent universe. Then it moved on to The Rowan, Damia, and the rest of the Tower and the Hive book series.

I have had this entire FT&T series in my bookcase for quite a lot of years. I think I just realized I have completely forgotten when I got The Rowan....:faint: Oy.

Anyways, this is inspired by *Katheairene's Tower and the Hive fanart. Specifically, the Gwyn-Raven triple portrait of the Rowan, her daughter Damia, and her grand-daughter Laria. (Said inspirational deviation can be seen here: [link] ) I went along a similar line of portraiture, but in my personal style and did my best to convey the characters as I felt they looked from Anne McCaffrey's descriptions.

I'll do a version of this in color sometime. :)

Disclaimer: The Tower and the Hive series is 100% copyright Anne McCaffrey. I'm just doing admiratory fanart of work of hers that I've admired for a long time. The characters are hers, the stories are hers, and that's...it.

Drawn and painted in Photoshop CS2 with a 6x4 Wacom Intuos3 tablet. Each character was done in one night, and the entire piece came together pretty quickly. I'd have to estimate probably an hour, maybe 2 hours per character.

Anyways....enjoy.

Didn't think many of my fractal-watchers would be interested in seeing this, but I wanted to post it up anyways.

:) Yeah, it would be pretty boring if I posted only fractals. That's why all my art is on this one account.

Thank you. Yeah, I like to draw as well as doing fractals. Actually, drawing/painting came first, then Photoshop, then Apophysis.

They're a fun, upbeat read. Really, really solid characters, and character interactions.
