Gilded, as in metal-plated and made very, very shiney. :D

I originally was going to do this in tones of aquas and purples, but for some reason I had this image of this in copper up on a glistening copper wall.

And so this fractal is copper-toned.

Original params from =davebold370 in the *Aposhack  Yep, parampong piece.

Anyways, this one took a little bit of Levels and Saturation to get just right. I'm also trying a new style with no title or border, with nothing to distract from the fractal. (Mostly because of the above concept.)

So I guess a string of more high-end fractals that don't have a title and "by" is in the works now. Sure I like putting a title on and so on. This one just feels....perfect, as it is.

This reminds me very much of mixed-media. Cut-and-paste pieces decorated lavishly in gold leaf. Very intricate layering and extraordinary level of ornate detail

Thank you! :D

Yeah it fit the metallic/ornate theme just fine.

Also, I couldn't really get any other colors to work right with it. Copper just...felt right.

 Yeah, I'm going to be trying more of these pieces.

There's more to the copper wall story.

I have a dream house in my mind. While I won't divulge too many details, one of the things I wanted was a bold metallic copper accent wall in the dining room. And as I was working on this, my mind kept coming back to that accent wall and the idea of having a HUGE fractal canvas print on it.

That's what made me turn this copper.

Ooooh. Or in fact have wall decorations based off of your fractals  you know, wrought in copper or iron or somesuch? :)

That's a cool idea. ;D

I've seen some pretty cool wall decorations over the years--big fan of the contemporary wall sculpture. Anything shiny, metallic, or fascinatingly geometric without looking heavy or blah.

I know one thing I want in my future house: art. studio. space. Painting, sculpture, ceramics, beadwork, you name it. I have gemstone beads and I do make some jewelry with them, but omigod, I want more space! I got enough to do the beadwork and such...earrings are a snap. Necklaces really call for more table space. So maybe my first project in the studio will be to do all the decorations for the rest of the house!

One of these days I'll get around to taking some pics and posting them online. One of these days.

Ooooh, yeah, I totally got you on that. The Rivendell vibe, right? :giggle: (I only say this cause my mom has loved wrought iron that looked like it was made by Elven hands--leaves and vines and such.) I love some of the cool wrought iron ones, but I wish for more contemporary designs in those areas.

I like the kinds of chandeliers that look like a balance of contemporary materials and clean lines, but lean a little towards traditional curves in the lines. They keep it fresh, but still hearken back to the curves and frillies days. (Personally I'd go for something more modern than that, but I just love seeing those, and want to see more of that kind of style in wrought-iron wall art.)
