This was one I did shortly after getting the custom brushes from *Balance-Sheet, mostly to experiment with the industrial/city ones.

Probably an hour tops, in Photoshop CS2 with a Wacom 6x8 Intuos3 tablet.

... where do you get 'industrial-styled' brushes?

Try looking for "free Photoshop brushes" on DA - there's quite a few brush packs available. :) Some can be industrial-styled, so give them a try.

this is awesome. its simplicity astound me. From far, I assumed it was yet another lame tree top silhouette pic that seem to pollute DA. but then after clicking on it (with intentions on mocking it) I am given an industrial wasteland! wonderful!
i am going to seriously consider getting this as a print. all the best!

I'm glad you like it so much! I was just experimenting with the industrial-styled brushes, and got that, and liked it enough to hit the "Save" button. Surprised at how saving the oddball pieces can be so rewarding...heh.

this is the coolest idea of a wasteland/ industrial setting ever.

I think the moon went on last, I was just wanting to do an alien planet with an industrial wasteland. It turned out better than I thought it would, or I wouldn't have saved it.

I'm glad people are enjoying it.

Hehe.

The problem is, my original document was so small, that unfortunately, the only print available is a mug. :(

I went in to try and make it a print for, and that's what I found out.

Sorry, man. I wish I could do more.

One thing you COULD do, if you really like it, is maybe download it, and stick it in your phone as a wallpaper? I did a wallpaper-sized pic of one of my fractals for a guy a few years back, and he was thrilled.
