Okay this one has a rather weird story.

Starts with my stupidity in forgetting to uncheck the "Close when complete" box in rendering in Apo, and thus suddenly deciding to stop the render to tweak a setting. The computer shut down on me on this after I tweaked the quality, and I'm all "nooooo I forgot to save the parameters!"

I restart. I get back into Apo, and deciding this fractal lost, started on a blade-aws dual variation fractal that looked like a sunset. Hell it even used the same damn gradient as this one.

I set it to render, okay 6 hours, decide okay fine if Apo horks out I'll have time to fix it before I disappear for the day.

It does indeed hork out. I pat myself on the back for remembering to check "save incomplete renders" becuase the way my Apo does this, it fritzes out at the end of a render with only a few seconds to spare...and the render I find sitting on my desktop is as complete as it's going to get anyways.

I open up the latest one sitting on my desktop...and my lost fractal's image was staring back at me!

I can't find the other one I was doing anywhere--maybe the next render will cough it up. :lmao:

Anyways, enjoy. Apophysis 2.06 Z+, slight Levels tweaking, border and title done in Photoshop.

Looks like you used an AMW Final-X transform on this one. Cool fractal.

Hmm, actually it was just amw. I didn't bother with a final transform on this--at least I don't think I did becuase I lost the params on that one. :paranoid: But it was a fun one to do, although the amw aspect is a bit obvious.

Thanks. :) Yeah, I'm trying some of the newer variations, and messing about with them.

lol, funny story! Sorry that happened, but you got one back, anyway!

This one looks like sound waves.

It does doesn't it? Looks like one of those oscilloscope thingies. Which is what made the variation so cool when I discovered it. :)

Actually this was the one I wanted to have back, but I'd given up on it and wasn't expecting to ever rescue it, despite all the time spent on making the gradient look right with it. Miracles do happen, I guess.

It's part of the variation I used in 2.06 Z+. There's a heap of different ones on there that I'm still trying to make sense of. But they're cool.

Thanks on the gradient.
