Thank you for your nice message
To answer your question: I work in the graphical field but it's mostly 2D with the odd 3D commission, so it's kind of half hobby, half professional. I love 3D but I don't like the "business" side of it. For the big money-men such as game developers creativity is not important, only the revenue that can be generated. I don't like that, so I always refuse commissions of that type. Also, most games are violent to the point of madness. I don't contribute to the corruption of young minds.
I know it sounds a little sanctimonious, but it's how I feel. The ability to create is a gift and should not be allowed to be sucked dry by the greediness of those unable to create themselves. Have you ever listened to Feng Zhu of FDZ School? It's scary the way he tries to tell youngsters that creativity is not important but rules, speed and squirming before big companies is. It makes my skin crawl.
. I'd rather be poor and happy than poor and beaten up, because you'll never get rich being an artist, but the "elite" will get rich from your abilities if you let them.
