Heylo, it's been quite a while - a year nearly?! O_O
I'm not gone, I have a backlog of things to upload here but its going to be a little bit longer before I get back into the swing of things.
The major thing that happened was that I moved out ^_^
I now own my own house - something I never imagined being able to do ever. I still don't quite believe it myself sometimes. The whole process has taken since about March earlier this year, hence why I've been sort of non-existant.
I'm coming up to my second month on my own (haven't burnt anything down yet) and I'm still figuring out a lot of things.
I currently don't have "proper" internet. I'm u
But is it really? Didn't have very much sunshine there and it's back to raining again.
I can't complain, I just spent a week in Menorca for a spectacular wedding and in-between decorating and preparing for the ceremony I got to explore and spend a bit of time in the pool.
I took quite a lot of photographs and have uploaded a few but the rest will remain private as I consider it a family occasion.
My resin tribe has grown again ^_^ Ophelia (my DC Bella head) finally has a body, and her head will be back from being painted soon yay!
The rest of my floaty head group along with Heavy Rain and DC Andre were also getting painted - I really
The days are getting longer but it's still pretty cold out and it snowed twice last week. I think we're in for a GoT style winter that lasts too long.
I'm currently trying not to cough a lung out thanks to someone kindly sharing their germs while at work, no amount of hand sanitiser can keep you safe.
There are currently a loooot of photos waiting to be uploaded, I need to do a bit of editing on some but the new cam takes fantistic shots. Hope to get more practice with it this year - especially on macro.
My big news of the year is that I'm making the big attempt to move out, I don't earn a whole lot so I'm having to look a city over (which
I have just finished a six day working week O_O I would be more traumatised but I've already survived two back-to-back six day weeks just at the end of August. Made a mental note never to let that happen again although it was mostly due to staff shortages and I do get paid overtime so I can't really complain.
So glad I don't have to do it again any time soon.
Lots of news lately:
*Mum has finally retired. It's good for her because she now has time to go out and meet up with her friends more and she's not tired all the time or in constant pain from aching joints. She has been told she needs her other knee replaced and is on the waiting list
I haven't been on here as much lately, sorry, mostly just because I haven't been on my laptop as much - it takes so long to start up now.
Just been keeping busy at work and trying to use my free days wisely. I have no holidays left to use so I'm swapping where I can and trying to cause as least disruption to the rest of my colleagues as possible. My days off have either been used up for getting my holiday things sorted or taking mum swimming to help out her knee (becoming pretty good at water aerobic exercise).
I'm planning on uploading a set of garden theme photos. My grandad has green thumbs and has been very busy this year and it really
But not any more.
So the day after my last photo dump I lost internet, tv, phone . . . Long story short - someone racked up a mahoosive mobile bill in february by using a lot of data they didn't have and pretty much set all the other bills to suffer for the next few months.
It was almost like the dark ages or like being 17 again before we had any fancy gadgets in the house.
Needless to say boredom settled in really quick and I turned to my one beacon of salvation - Pokemon Yellow. After 2 and a half weeks disconnected I am currently at the Indigo league ready to face the Elite four for the second time. I lost on the last trainer. I almost
My manager has forced me to take holiday time this month.
Nothing bad, but since April is the start of the new business term any unused holidays will probably not be transferable so he wants everyone to use them up while we still can.
I have pretty much my full quota to use simply because I only started full-time in September and I haven't felt the need to take time off.
So that gives me this week off and then another week at the end of the month.
I already don't know what to do with myself, the whole reason I wanted to be full-time so much was to get out of the house.
I did make a start on my room. Had a bit of D.I.Y mayhem trying to b
Anyone make any resolutions for the new year?
They don't tend to stick.
The only thing that comes close to being a resolution is my plan to buy a new camera, but I've been planning that since last year. My bridge is nice and easy to use and I'm quite comfortable with most of its settings but it doesn't quite perform as well as I want in the macro department. I really want to show my love for teeny tiny things in my photographs.
I think I'm finally ready for a proper DSLR.
This is where having a job really blows my mind. I can afford stuff now. Without having to save up the whole year. I don't think I'll get used to affording th
And take the wind with you!
My house feels like it's shaking the wind is so strong O_O
I should start with the good news - I am officially a permanent staff member of my charity shop ^_^
It feels nice to say I have a job. All those years unemployed and stuck in the catch 22 system of "can't get a job don't have experience, can't get experience don't have a job" are finally well and truly behind me.
For the first time in a long time I can actually buy new clothes and not just because I've worn something until it's literally fell apart.
It's a good feeling.
That is also pretty much the reason why I've been relatively quiet on here - and
I can't be too sure since I'm still having to wear a waterproof when I leave the house and wrap up in a blanket when I get home again.
Yay Scottish weather . . .
I have been rather busy since I last wrote, I'm currently on month 2 of my work trial and very much hoping to be kept on as a permanent addition to the staff. Loving it so much - it feels good to be out every day and actually doing something worthwhile. I was pretty happy just volunteering for them but this way I can actually be there when they need me all week and it's not eating up every spare penny I have from my saturday only job.
Plus it has meant I can afford another additio
No I haven't become Taylor Swift's new number one fan :P
My little cousin has been a HUGE fan since she was 11 (she's now 20!) and has never missed a single concert whenever Taylor has made it to the UK. She was uber excited when she learned that Taylor would be coming to Glasgow for the first time ever and so of course bought tickets. We then found out in February that she had gotten a placement on her Uni's exchange programme to work in Toronto to get a first-hand experience of the music industry. Her first thought was about missing the concert.
So I was told I had to go in her place and take as many photos as I could since I'm the only
I love Comic Con so much, but it doesn't half drain you. It's been two weeks nearly now and I still haven't got back into a sleeping pattern haha So much youtube/netflix/GoT to catch up on.
It was a pretty fantastic weekend - I did my first proper full cosplay and loved it, I went to my first meet and sort-of talked to people (like 2 possibly), and I made a whole lot of impulse purchases that I do not regret one bit.
I really can't wait til the next one. There will however be changes made. There must be a simpler and faster way of doing the bandages/strapping for my legs that wont a) fall down every 10 minutes and b) result in bandage tape
