My Father's always kept me grounded. Doesn't matter what I do, did; he always stressed/stresses foundations. This was his way of reminding me that a good artist
can draw with anything because he knows how to draw and paint. I know this but I like the way he brought it up in our conversation.
Random talk with dad on car ride home from Sandiego.
Dad: You know that doctor in Star Trek? Star Wars? Whatever.
Me: Yeah I guess. Don't really watch Star Wars Trek.
Dad: Anyway, he has that device that scans and heals patients. I've never seen him help someone manually. Made me think that he's not really a doctor. That device is the doctor since it's doing all the work. The human just carries the device around. So anyone carrying that device is the doctor. Point: Your tools should not define you as an artist
Me: Awesome.... you watch Star Trek?
Dad: Yeah a few episodes when I first came to the states. I think it's a stupid show.
