During my Christmas holiday, I watched The Hobbit- movie from 1977's just 'cause I hadn't seen it before. To my surprise it was a lot better than I expected. :D It's more simple than the movie trilogy (that I also love very much) and has quite likeable style.
(Thought Woodland elves and Smaug were a bit odd-looking to me... O.o)

(It has a pretty nice soundtrack too... just saying 'cause "Down down The Gobling town" has been playing in my mind for a couple of weeks by now. :earworm:  I can't.)

And I just wanted to draw these two Bilbo Bagginses having a pipe together. Smile

Have you seen that old Hobbit cartoon? If so, what do you think about it?

No sanoisin että oli! Se oli semmonen kodikas ja rauhallinen, vähän semmonen satukirjamainen. :D Tykkäsin ihan.

Joo, on, en oo vielä tota TSH versioo vilkuillut.

The Hobbit cartoon by Rankin & Bass is in a lot of ways better than the Peter Jackson films in that it's more faithful plot wise to the book. I watched it when I was a kid countless times and The Return of the King is what got me interested in finally reading the trilogy. I also suggest you check out Ralph Bakshi's attempt at telling the story of The Lord of the Rings. It's for lack of a better word, interesting.

Hehe, I know what you mean.
I like both versions, they are both good in their own ways. :D

I think I will, when I have time. ^^

It was definitely closer to the book in some ways, and in other ways it seems like the new trilogy was closer. Both have their merits. Great concept and rendition. :)

Okay, I understand how he looked like he looked 'cause in the book he's described as a frog-like creature... But yes, he was a little odd too. XD
