Well, I'm sure you all know my old journal by heart now, so I thought you might want something new to read... I'm going to Thailand! I am participating in a program called International Student Volunteers, who organise all kinds of volunteering-holidays in many different countries all over the world, and have a huge range of community-based and conservation-based volunteering programs to choose from. I was given a position in a community-based program. I will be living in a Thai fishing village called Ban Samchong, about 40mins south of Phuket. Well, this is my first journal entry. Something you’ve all been dreading (I am sure), but it was inevitable. Suck it up! I’ve been busy lately; I have spent a lot of money over this last week, and ended up with a brand new (and very good) Tamron SP Di 70-200mm F/2.8, a second hand (ebay) Tamron 200-400mm F/5.6, the best monopod + ball head my camera shop could sell me, UV filters to suit the lenses plus an 8GB card. I also had my sensor cleaned, much to the dismay of the assistant who soon realised that it was no ordinary dust! Good ol’ Jarrahdale dust! The best you can get; and if you live here you don’t even have to pay
