Time for an update, I would say. Here in Plymouth, a day of heavy rain, the gloom uplifted somewhat by our local football team, Plymouth Argyle, having won the League One title (I think I got that right). There will be an open-top bus celebration through Plymouth. Good luck in this weather; I will be there in spirit, but I have a Standard Class 5 to work on before Tom comes down this week. I remember some years ago, when Mrs Brit was still at work, the Argyle fans came past her office shouting their slogan "Green Army!" Mrs B (not a Devonian) thought it was an environmental protest. Which brings me on to protests. I have one. I was irritated to hear some pompous twat on a TV news programme yesterday compare the anti-monarchy protesters to "train spotters". Whatever your views on the anti-monarchists (and I am keeping mine to myself) why are train spotters always fair game when someone want to insult a group of people? I am proud to have been a train spotter at times during my life
