Comic Expo Calgary 2011

Journal Entry: Sun Jun 19, 2011, 1:00 AM

Today I took the opportunity to go to Calgary's Comic Expo 2011 and I spent some time talking with some artists I appreciate. One of whom is Ray Fawkes who hales from Toronto. At first I thought he might not be interested in talking but we found things in common and he showed interest in seeing some of my work. During our conversation he encouraged me to submit some of my works to publishing houses and go forward in doing a gallery to show case my talent. At this point I'm intimidated in sending any of my pieces to a publishing house but I am working towards doing a gallery. When I don't know? The other artist I talked with for a  brief moment was Mike Mignola and he was telling me that he is starting a new series of HellBoy.
So there you have it a little bit of info of what I've been up too as of late.

It's been interesting creatively these last two weeks. I have been stepping out of my comfort zone and looking for opportunities to talk with complete strangers who look interesting to me. Within the next two months there are some possibilities of doing creative shoots that I have been mauling around in my mind for a couple of months. I just hope they pan out or I will have nothing to show you?
If you have been watching my art I want to thank you for your support and for those who have corresponded with me I want to thank you for your encouragement:)

Wishing you all the best in your journey here at Deviantart!

Excited!

Journal Entry: Thu May 27, 2010, 8:17 PM

Friday May 28th is the release date for the ipad here in Canada. I'm hoping the lines will not be ridiculous so I have my fingers crossed that I will be able to buy one? I see so many functions for me and my art. At this point I have been using my itouch to promote my art but this will open a new world for me when it comes to viewing size. The draw back to me is I know the 2nd generation will have more to offer and will probably come out a year later.
How many of you deviants are going to look into buying an ipad or android?
Curious?

I also want to thank all of you who have been dropping by and  leaving comments. I appreciate it! Your input pushes me to becoming a better artist so keep those comments coming and keep watching because it looks like there are some interesting possibilities coming up to do some fun interesting pieces.

Inspired by the Elizabethan era.

My most recent shoot was done with a Elizabethan touch. I've always found this era fascinating and mysterious. The art of her time was rich in color and had classic posses.   I would like to revisit this side of photography soon but finding the costumes is frustrating and tedious. My skills need to be honed and refined but the more I study other artists pictures the better I will understand how to go about my own. I hope you as viewer enjoy my gallery and will keep dropping by to see what is new. Thanks to all who have been supporting me and I'm looking forward to hearing from you!

For those who like carnivals and freak shows heres some news.

Scott McClelland the ring master of a freak show called "Carnival Diablo",This past week phoned me to ask if I would be interested in shooting "carnivale lune bleue". This is a carnival happening in Ottawa Canada From Aug 1 - Sept 6th where "Cirque Maroc", "Carnival Diablo" and "great snakes of the world" will be performing. Scott has asked if I would be lead photographer for this event. The carnival will be based on the HBO series "Carnivale".The set designers from the orignal show are recreating it for the public to enjoy and experience. My job will to be to document the events and be part of putting together a book based on the old midway/carnival days. I will be looking forward to sharing with you my experience once I get back.
Cheers!

A Season of new beginnings.

Greetings to all who have come buy to say hi! or was just curious about my work. This character "Raven" is a fun one to work on. He's like an onion to me,the more I peel away the layers the more I enjoy the aroma of this character. I don't know if I will keep on visiting this character in the future but if I come up with some new situations he might develop into something more. Who knows? If you guys have any questions please let me know?Cheers!

A Season of new beginnings.

Well I haven't done anything in 3D in a while so I decided to learn some tutorials in Zbrush in how to poly paint. So my latest entry is my first attempt. I have no idea when I will do my next 3D piece but when I do I hope I will see improvement in my skills and have a greater understanding in full figure character studies? Let me know what you think? I would love to hear from you?
