Most of this stems from the fact that, with how drastically Final Fantasy has changed in the new decade, you can tell where SE's priorities lie -- and it's not in the story-telling. Money is their main objective now, and they go out of their way to rely on DLC just to milk more out of their fans -- fans they have had for 30 years because they put more stock in what the newer fans want, which is nothing more than pretty graphics and characters whom are OP just to be OP.
I haven't played the VII remake for a multitude of reasons. But what I have seen, I'm not really impressed in the sense that, yes...it is part of the reason why I posted this. As for Final Fantasy XVI: I can't judge because we still don't really know anything about it. Regardless, I probably won't be buying it. I'm done with SE's crap.
That is true. Things certainly aren't what they used to be and that really angers me sometimes. Game companies treat their veteran fans as if they don't matter, while companies like Disney just don't care about anyone at all except themselves -- moreso, their pockets.
Disney's apparent ego drives me crazy -- buying up stuff they really have no business buying. Some things they, apparently, to save them from bankruptcy (so I've heard)... But regardless, what they're doing since isn't helping anything.
I would like to say I won't care if these businesses/companies go down after all of their bs. But I know that at least some will still remain -- Disney is most likely one of them.
Agreed. That is pretty much what I'm doing. I've chosen to do my own boycott of SE: I'm not buying anymore of their products, and I have long list of reasons why. They certainly aren't what they used to be and who knows if they'll ever go back to that. There are only a few things they care about -- money, and what's hot. Anything else is just dabbled in and not necessarily given the attention it should be in order to be acceptable. They've actually made their lack of concern so obvious that you can tell which games they actually try with and which ones they don't.
They're shoving their objective(s) right in our faces and saying "Deal with it." At least that's how I feel.
