*UPDATE: New strip posted!*
Yep! I've started work on continuing (and hopefully concluding) the Math Major Man series that's been on hold for, like, 2 years!
Not sure how much anyone cares anymore, but I CARE. I CARE DAMMIT!! And since I'm writing and drawing the silly thing and all you guys get to do is look at it, me caring is kinda the most important part, yeah? :) Stay tuned.
For the second time, I've been criticized on The Webcomic Beacon podcast for my use of grayscale in DEAD DAYS as opposed to slathering my strip in BITCHIN CULORZZZ!
Well, as you all know, DEAD DAYS has always been in black & white and will always BE in black & white. Here's the rebuttal I wrote into their comment section:
Hi Webcomic Beacon! This is John Rios and I do the webcomic DEAD DAYS.
Now, this being the second time your (awesome) podcast has mercilessly bashed my strip because it doesn't happen to be in color, I felt like I needed to comment.
DEAD DAYS began as a strip in my college newspaper that obviously did not have the budget
I just randomly thought of Dead Days and am here, popping by your DA page. It's great to see you still posted something this year! haha. I miss Dead Days but I'm sure you're busy doing other awesome things. I'm not sure I ever thanked you enough for that strip, so just to let you know I fondly think of it! Whatever you do please keep drawin' dude!
Well that was a nice note to log on to devArt and see! Thank you very much Rufi! Yes, I still cartoon, but work mainly as a graphic designer. Believe it or not, I have a number of Dead Days written and ready to go if the urge were to strike me once again... which is very well might. Thanks for thinking of my strip! Keep cartooning yourself! -John
