Description

Lanky with the sleekest droopiest fur known to cat kind. Ny is an odd mix of lank and brawn, her tiger genes lending her more bulk than a normal cheetah, though she’s not filled out much yet. Her lack of markings stems from her mothers cheetah ticking but the darkness from her melanistic father. The combinations leaving her pelt speckled and mottled but lacking many striking markings. Her final adult frame is yet to be determined.

Background

Ny’s so far short life has been filled with a mix of things. For a while she has faint memories of a loving family. Of a dark shadow of a father and the warm cream colour of her mother. Of struggling against other bodies for food and of comfort and warmth. And then she remembers the hands of a human. Not unkind, but not nearly as warm as her family. But then there was brightness and warmth again. A cat her size but different. Bright like the sun and not the pale of her mother but yellow? A Sibling?! Must be a sibling, she thinks and she snuggles into the body. 

Her sister Dai is different from her. She is everything bright and loud. She is fierce and sometimes a bit much and she always has a fun idea. She points out all the clouds and suggests what they could be. She lets the humans know when they are hungry and she always lets Ny snuggle her when she needs a nap. She is faster and stronger but she doesn’t seem to be growing properly, she still seems so small. But that doesn’t stop her from always winning when they play. The caravan they are on allows for plenty of time star or cloud gazing, and to be honest not much else. They don’t know where they are going, but they are always going somewhere.

That was until one fateful night when their caravan was raided. The humans scattering and leaving the young cats to fend for themselves against the would be attackers. Dai seemed keen to join these wild cats and avoid the city and people so Nyte happily followed. Curious to see what this new adventure holds for the two of them!

Personality

Where her sister is loud and boisterous, Ny is quiet and subdued. Slower in her actions but not her thoughts. Oh she has so many thoughts and ideas and things to say, it just, takes some time to get them out of her mouth. To get her limbs moving at the same speed, but when she does she can move with speed and grace.. Sometimes. The many problems of a growing body. She tends to overthink and avoid action when unsure, choosing instead to watch and observe than throw herself in. Not that she is against a good adventure, she just prefers to have a coherent plan for where and when they are going. She is shy around new cats and prefers to let Dai lead, content to just be nearby to the goings on. Sometimes she feels she might be happier if she were more in the center of things but as of yet is not convinced.

Traits:

Shy and Withdrawn

Ny is a bit of a wimp when it comes to social interaction with anyone other than Dai. She wont seek out company, though she does long for it. Or at least to be near others. But she will join in if prompted and explicitly invited. She sometimes feels torn between her comfort in the background and a quiet yearning to be more involved.

Warm and Empathetic

She might take a little while to get comfortable with you but once she does she will be a very kind and caring friend. Always looking for ways to help and aid those in need that she trusts.

Reserved and Cautious

She tends to overthink most situations and scenarios, tending to watch and observe to gather as much information as possible and formulate the best course of actions… which is usually to continue watching and waiting…

Self doubting and Dependant

Ny depends on Dai for many things, including her emotional and social wellbeing. Keen to follow her lead wherever possible, it means Ny can feel more than a little afloat when alone. She sometimes feels a little overshadowed but also feels deeply grateful and reliant on the dynamic.
