Stranded BNSF trains, snow, freezing temperatures combined with even colder wind chills all contributed to canceling passenger service across North Dakota and Montana.

The annulled Empire Builder with #8 leading and #7 bringing up the rear passes through Newport, MN heading back to Chicago, IL.
