Goodbye Minnesota by DDL-Photography Goodbye Minnesota by DDL-Photography
January 1, 2015

After serving for many years pulling the Minnesota Zephyr Dinner Train in Stillwater, MN the owner closed the business and sold the train. These two vetearn EMD F7's are loaded up on flatcars sitting in Randolph, MN waiting for final inspection before leaving for Alamosa, Colorado where they will be stored and eventually rebuilt to run again for a new owner.

Thank you! Yeah, but I'm glad they are going to someone that will take better care of them rather than scrap.

Great shot!! Sad to see them this way, but glad to hear they will get another chance. These were the engines that were running when I was growing and then replaced with the other styles that I often see today.  Even so, I still keep my eye out for the F series.

Thank you! Yeah, the came so very close to being scrapped, but someone stepped in at the last possible second and saved them. While it's sad to see not as many running around, at least some were saved to go and see!

Thanks again!
