yeah, it's something about the style... there is too much deep blacks, there is rain (which is cool btw), and the overall impression is scary :D

radicalpoptart is absolutely right. This is Classic Batman.Dark, sinister, gritty, edgy, grim, mysterious, ruthless, noirish, intimidating and bad-ass.
I`m having a hard time deciding which Jim Lee Batman picture on deviantart.com that you have colored that I want to get framed for my place-this one or the
Jim Lee Batman picture from the HUSH storyline.
I love them both, they both rock and they`re both beautfiul Classic Batman pictures!

Gritty and gorgeous. Reminiscent of Miller and Mazzucchelli's Year One style. I love it.

Jim Lee started out at Marvel (where he re-created the X-Men with the canon that we still have today), and then left with some other former Marvel artists (including Todd McFarlane) to co-found Image Comics. At Image, he created titles like Wildcats and Gen13, which were later brought over to Wildstorm Comics (a DC Comics imprint) when he became its Editor-in-Chief. While working at Wildstorm, he's done masterful work on various big-name DC titles, including Batman, Superman, and others.

He's been credited on the New York Comic Con blog as the closest thing the comic book industry has to a rock star.

It's Batman, classic, and sinister. Who cares if it's a quicky? I Love it.

Wow, Jim Lee's sketches look like Pat Lee's finished art. Have we ever seen these two together in the same room?
