In Greek mythology. Minotaur is a half human and half bull, his names Minotaur means bull of Minos. He was the son of Cretan Bull and Pasiphaë. Minos asked Poseidon for help to strengthen his position as king. The god of seas offered him a unique white bull to sacrifice in his name. But Minos was so captivated by the animal's beauty that he decided to hide it. And sacrifice another bull instead. Trying to deceive Poseidon. When the god of the seas discovered, he devised a plan for revenge. He was inspired by Pasiphaë, Minos's wife, and a carnal desire he could control for the bull. She asked the architect and craftsman Daedalus to build a wooden boat covered in genuint leather where she could enter and have relations with the bull. In this way, the Minotaur, named Asterion was born. He had to be imprisoned in the labyrinth of Crete, also designed by Daedalus, where he was fed seven men and seven women. Offered as a sacrifice and later he was defeated by the Athenian hero, Theseus, prince of Athens.
