There is a new magazine in Rhode Island that conducted interviews with artists at one of the galleries where I exhibit my drawings. It is called Community X zine, and the first issue contains an interview with me and some samples of my art, including one of my drawings of Jess. It is available in downloadable format and a limited run of hard copies. VERY excited!
I just received confirmation that some of my works will be included in an exhibit at the University of Rhode Island's Providence library in April.
The opening night reception is just a few days before my birthday, so what a lovely present that will be!!😃😃😃😃
It's all a matter of seeing things in perspective and not taking one's self too seriously!
I've been sorting through old sketchbooks and papers over the past few days. There was a time when I cringed at an old drawing that I didn't like. I'm pretty happy with my artistic skills now, although there is always room for improvement. Some of my old stuff I quite like, while other pieces used to make me cringe. These days, I look at a "failed" drawing as part of the natural evolution of an artist. Without that practice and experience, I wouldn't be where I am today.
And where IS that exactly?
Well, I KNOW I'll never be in the history books. S
It's April 22nd which means it's that time of the year again and your special day is here! We hope you have an awesome day with lots of birthday fun, gifts, happiness and most definitely, lots of cake! Here's to another year!
Many well wishes and love from your friendly birthdays team
