TCC = Tetsuko Cosplay Calendar

So I'm casting about for a Valentine/love theme for a February TCC; nothing obvious was coming to mind.

Then I came across a photo of one of my favorite costumes from any TV show or movie: the Grecian-inspired gown worn (just barely) by Leslie Parrish as Lt. Carolyn Palamas in the Star Trek episode "Who Mourns for Adonis?" And I thought: put Tetsuko in this dress and present her as the Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite.

This is one of the most unusual costumes in Star Trek (or any other TV show or movie). There's no back to the dress; the top is anchored at one point on the waistband of the skirt, and held in place solely by the weight of the cloak over her shoulder. A unique piece of fashion engineering...
