And while WW may be more recognizable in more parts of the world, Mars Ravelo's creation has a media career that Charles Moulton would surely be envious of: since her creation in 1950, Darna has been the subject of a long-running comics series, many movies (often featuring well-known Filipina stars in the title role), and several TV series. Meanwhile, Hollywood struggles to produce even one Wonder Woman feature film, and it's been decades since Lynda Carter's turn as the Amazon Princess on American TV.
