Maxima's Original Demo Sequence by DaveBarrack Maxima's Original Demo Sequence by DaveBarrack
These are the original roughs I did for Maxima's portion of the press demo which starts here ( www.grrlpowercomic.com/archive… ) in the comic. Most of it is really different, though some of it is nearly unchanged. I drew these pages before I ever posted a single comic, so these are at least 4 years old.

Wow, you have some srs planning skillz. Makes me curious how much more you have planned story wise, and how many additional scenes are half-penned or fully sketched lying about in your office.

Where do you live btw? No reason >:D

Do you actually do pencils for your comic or is the product entirely digital?

It's entirely digital. I wish I had physical pencils, but I do way too much little nudging, lasso/transform etc to make drawing analog practical.

The longer I read your stuff the more I like your style. I wish I had the skills in PhotoShop to draw 100% digital

Always love to get a glimpse at the creative process behind the finished strips.
In this case its double up since this counts as a whole other story :-)

It's nice seeing these originals, even if they've changed a lot. The sequence in the comic is very epic, but I like the brief glance into Dabbler's past :)

'Jump pony, jump' :D

Totally should have included that in the final script :P

I'm not sure if it really fits anywhere in the final, but it is a great line.
