Thank you very much for your nice critique! I was quite anxious to know what other people would think of it. It's always exciting to learn new software and new techniques, but this also makes me biased and not as objective to myself
Thank you very much for the attention and the time you've given me and my work! I like the critique so much... It translates into words almost everything I've stuggled with in this scene! Yes the story line was important to me, and it's the first time I've had so much feeling in a work. I wanted to show the knight protecting it, keeping it hidden and safe. The knight understanding the importance of the task at hand in a moment of enlightened deity. Willing to protect it at the last point before the cliff, making a final stand. The fact that the Santo Caliz still remains in the Cathedral of Valencia is a miracle itself. I was myself not pleased with the lighting of the chalice. But indeed the story was the reason I've kept it this way.
I've got myself lost with the ivy a bit I must say, forgive me, it was the fist time I used it and I tend to get a bit over-enthousiastic from time to time.
And I accept the challenge... the scene is not yet over form me That's why I like this place so much! There are so many great artist around I learn from! And I again thank you for your time and remarkable insight!
Thank you so much for your constructive Critique!!!
I'm really glad you like the model as this is one of my fist serious attempt of modelling something. I love your idea about reworking the guns, and have already started making the corrections for them... expect an updated version really soon The flame is indeed a bit 'kitch'... but I still don't know what to do with the front to catch the eye a little more. I'm still experimenting with making rusty 3D 'spikes' to go on top. The motion blur will definiltely be applied in the final scene. The background here was just a draft... I'm still busy creating a planetary environment to go with the scene.
As I only have a personal/non-commercial license of 3DCoat, I have no plans yet for sale... though this might change real soon If I keep having this much fun modelling.
