Fire and Ice.
Spring and Fall.
Hurricane and Drought.
Ignore and Call.
Once and Always.
Finite and Forever.
Take and Give.
Dumb and Clever.
Men and Women.
Lock and Key.
Love and Hate.
You and Me.
United we stood.
Together we fell.
Falling into dust,
A living Hell.
Their voices cried out,
As the world saw,
A war that began,
With the fall.
Four hijacked planes,
Two Hundred Sixty-Six passengers dead,
Nineteen of whom were terrorists
Who started a decade of bloodshed.
Four Hundred and Fifty heroes,
Sacrificed themselves to save others.
Never looking back while running into danger,
While the whole world watching and still now shudders.
Twenty-Seven Hundred and Thirty-Five more
Were lost with the World Trade Center's fall.
One Hundred and Twenty-Five in the Pentagon,
Thirty-Five Hundred and Seventy-Six in all.

A heart of glass,
Shining brilliantly.
Suddenly flickering,
Then goes out instantly.
Dark glass heart,
Empty and plain.
Beginning to slip,
But won't sustain.
The only hold,
To everything else,
Breaks away,
To be hurled.
Falling faster,
Flashing by.
Shattering glass,
Will instantly die.
We've been so close for so very long,
But now everything just seems so wrong.
We never talk, we never meet,
All i wanna do is take a seat.
Take a seat, don't let anything change.
The distance between us is to obig to gauge.
I trusted you, you trusted me,
And right now I need you to see.
You have pulled me through my horrible past,
Time since has gone so fast.
I love how I can tell you all that fails.
Your unselfish heart, to me, prevails.
Now it seems that you're starting to leave.
I just find it so hard to believe.
Don't leave me, take me with you.
I don't care where I'm taken to.
The feeling of your care;
Your worried stare
She disappeared in a cloud of smoke. The stench of freshly burned rubber filled the air. Panic floods through my body. Where could she have gone!? "Shelbi?!" I run down the street searching for her. Randomly I hear a dog barking. As I turn to look, it disappears in a flash of light creating a cloud of smoke.
This can't be happening. Where is everybody going? I look around more carefully and notice there is smoke in the sky as if there are fires everywhere. In the distance sirens sound as police and fire trucks are dispatched. I can't lose Shelbi. She is like my sister
I run back to where she disappeared. Where she was standing, a shadow of
Here I am, stuck on the ground,
Waiting for myself to be found.
Finally she came and helped me on my feet,
And now I no longer feel in defeat.
Then another girl came to me,
Someone I was very glad to see.
When I asked if she'd be mine,
She said yes and I felt love, so fine.
But not long after she broke my heart.
It was a lack of feeling that tore us apart.
Now the first seems so far away,
And I don't know what to do or say.
And now that I can't find anyone near,
All I want to do is shed a tear.
Even though my heart feels so numb,
The tears I wait for just won't come.
Now I'm back on the ground,
Once again, waiting to be found
Here I am standing before a closed door,
Waiting for my chance to go through and explore.
I want to know all that's on the other side,
Wondering what secrets the door is trying to hide.
The door seems so close yet so far away.
I try to reach for it though my hands freeze and stay.
I wondered why they acted so;
All I wanted to do was go through and know.
Finally I decided to get some rest,
So the next time I'd try, I could do my best.
But then I heard a knock at the door,
Something I had not quite heard before.
When I tried to open the door, I felt so surprised,
Because of what I had finally realized.
I now understand what the do
Tonight I decided to go outside,
Wanting to know from what I was trying to hide.
As I look at the brilliant sky tonight,
A new star has finally caught my sight.
It is beautiful, but so far away;
I feel I must reach it, but it will not stay.
When the clouds came and hid it from me,
All I could think of is what I used to see.
The star with its radiant shine,
I'm constantly longing for it to be mine.
Then with the break of dawn it fades away,
And I feel disappointed that it cannot stay.
I've waited all day for the sun to set,
Because I haven't reached the star quite yet.
Finally night has come at last,
Trying to find something fro
The day we've waited for has come at last.
Though it's been so long it has gone so fast.
Our final practice before it counts,
Our final practice before they announce.
Will we go on? We do not know,
We won't until we perform our show.
Perform it with heart, soul, and mind,
Characteristics that are hard to find.
We have built it up all season long,
And it is now time to perform the first song.
Approaching the field, excitement fills the air,
The nerves and anticipation is hard to bare.
As we finish the crowds cheers,
Destroying all of our failing fears.
We feel so strong, knowing we made it,
Enjoying so much that we never quit.
