The battlefield reeked of sulfur, the life that once flourished the area nothing but a scorched wasteland now, the ground stained by blood and ash. The defenses that were once erected, of spiked walls or blockades, were practically blown to smitheries by this point, the debris scattered across the floor. Small trenches also mixed in the landscape, where bodies could be occasionally found of human and humanoid soldiers. The prior rain from the storm clouds overhead filled large puddles in the earth, the water near-black from filth and blood that soaked into it.
If there was one thing that stood out as the worst moment this horrific scene could offer, it was the noise.
Cries and screams mixed with the sound of wyverns soaring through the air, their shrieks ringing in the ears of every soldier on the field.
