▶ Art description

Sand burrowers were large carnivorous worms that lived under the sands of planet Blenjeel. Jaden Korr witnessed a sand burrower swallow a survivor that was stuck on the planet when his ship crashed there, and was forced to avoid them as he searched for spare parts to repair his ship.

It used ground vibrations to detect prey; moving under the sand at astonishing speed, emerging, and snatching the victim in its capacious, funnel-like mouth. It would then sink back into the sand, dragging its prey along with it. However, they were not very intelligent; they easily mistook the explosion of a Thermal detonator on the sand as a person standing on that spot, and this tactic could be used to distract them while the thrower ran the opposite direction.

I HATED those sand burrowers. Most ugly Star Wars creature ever. I recently being playing academy and when I was jumping, one of those damn burrowers suddenly came up and tried to eat me! It failed to eat me... but it sure did scare the crap out of me. I'M NOT KIDDING! IT REALLY DID SCARE ME! I always hated that mission.

I remember this mission on Blenjeel. Not one of my favorites, but very challenging. Almost reminds me the Arrakis Worms from Dune, but smallers.

It was my least favourite. I felt it served as nothing but a homage to Dune, there wasn't even anything accomplished in the mission.

I loved the planet Blenjeel; yeah, the burrowers were a pain, but I loved the sound of their roars echoing over the desert, and running super-fast to outwit them.

Augh! That level scared me as a kid.

As a bit of retribution on my part, I'm planning on using Blenjeel in a later chapter of Paranormalities and creating a backstory that the Valkoran Empire bombarded the whole planet from orbit to cause the sand burrowers' extinction (or alternatively, they all just starved to death after the galaxy placed the warning to avoid the planet).

I actually had no idea that I could use thermal detonators to distract them! Next time.

Oh, and very cool art, of course!

You can also use them to kill them. I know because I've done it before. I'm not kidding! You really can!
