Doubt Down Grey Life so sure when the light shines. Then the dark. Surety fails in the down. When the dark comes. Surety replaced by doubt. Faded light May be worse than black. Greys' doubt Raises doubt Black is the unknown. In the half light Greys merge Bring hesitation. The dark hides and black looms. A light of hope Blinds and hurts When the gloom has settled in. What light can help When so down When in doubt The light burns. The grey numbing Grey without pain Grey without joy Just grey. Warm gentle light Not hurting bright Moves - not cuts the gloom. Pigeon Soft Cooing Summer Sky I see pretty cloud in the sky They are grey, mauve, cream, and peach. No not a shimmery sunset in the sky. Contrary to rumours I do not look at the world through rose coloured glasses. I have rose coloured bifocals. While they allow me to still see the yucky bits so I can do what I can about them, they also let me enjoy the good, perhaps to escape a little and so not become hardened and despair. - DWP
