I am alone
I see no others before my eyes,
As my tears are swallowed by empty skies.
I eat my meals in the back,
Away from the populace's gossip attacks.
I stay at home when others are out,
For reasons I fathom are often I cannot shout.
I am alone that much is true.
If I am alone, does that mean others are too?
I brandish envy to others about,
For they have relationships, something I am without.
I watch my hair and nails grow by,
As often as I blink, each milimeter with unwatched eye.
I grow older, wiser, and far more sad,
As if all the good times are no longer to be had.
It is time to say my wisest song.
I am my own worst enemy, in truth, all along.
I am alone, this much I know.
Now that we've said the title, on with the one man show.
