Phineas and Ferb - Carl the Intern and Major Monogram

Ask Agent P:

Anonymous asked you:
"Did you get your poisonous spur removed, since male platapi has one"

Anonymous asked you:
"Did they take out your poison glands when you were young, or do you still have them?"

"Carl...I get the feeling you just made a witty sarcastic remark about me. Stop it."
"Wouldn't dream of it, sir."

___

Oh, there you are Perry!

Guys....I freaking LOVE Major Monogram.

No no....You don't underSTAND.

I could like...Watch him all day. Which makes me sad he gets so little fandom love. :(

i'm sure there are people who just haven't learned it. Not everybody just stumbles onto platypi in the park, or something.

Does it...does it make you feel like less of a man platypus Perry?

Perry is 100 percent man platypus! He needs no spurs and poison when he has fists. And tail. And bill....He gets stuff done, maaaaan.

Ha, glad to see these two! Especially in such a funny way!
Plus their relationship is oddly adorable. <3

All the characters are awesome! I honestly don't hate anyone. Sure...Candace annoys me at times, but I can't make myself hate her.

I don't really hate anybody either. XD

I've grown to like the Major.

He's one of those characters, I didn't much care for at first, I didn't hate him either, just didn't much care either way.
But his seriousness, his relationship with Carl, and mostly his scenes with Dr.D made me like him.

It's just so fun seeing him and Doof together, they are sort of on the same wavelength.

You are right about the fandom thing, though. He seems to be one of those characters people like to put in the role of the bad guy, especially if they take the side of Doof...

I think I've always liked him. As you said, he and Doofenshmirtz tend to be on the same wavelink. Very alike. If anything, the difference would probably just be the fact one is seen on the side of good, and the other on the side of evil. But them in the same room, and they are HILARIOUS. Witty banter back and forth, playing off each other. I honestly wish they would release seasons of the show on DVD, and have them comment on every episode. Those have even made me laugh more than the actual show. Which is saying something.

The fandom likes to make everybody the bad guy if they go against Doof. (Besides Perry...because who can hate Perry?)Charlene, Major Monogram, Peter the Panda...Heck, I think I've seen Vanessa as the bad guy too.

It's like we aren't even watching the same show, or something. XD

They seem very evenly matched. If it were Major vs Doof, I imagine Doof would win far more often.

I've seen that too, mostly in the sense that Perry really hated Doof and was far more violent towards him. I don't know if the writers intended to make him the bad guy, but that's how he certainly came across.

It's usually the sign of lazy/bad writing or the author just not caring about the side-characters.
And usually it's not even necessary.

I mean, lets say you want to write Doof/Perry and need conflict there and someone to oppose the whole thing. The Major probably would take an issue with the relationship, if just because he'd be worried about Perry and the safety of the agency. And that would make for a far more interesting story but then again, it would be more difficult to write 'a villain' that has depth and good motives.

I've certainly seen Vanessa as the bad guy too. It's kinda understandable from the point of view that she has opposed her father and his career, and well, she's a teenager, they fight with their parents. (Well, I didn't, but this is something I once read in a book)

And again, she's a character that could be used in a role of an antagonist (or as someone who causes conflict) in a story like that, if her character was handled well.

LOL. It's already been proven that Doof practically thwarts himself though. So even then, he'd probably still lose.

Poor Doof, I'm still rooting for him though.

...People have seriously done that? How....Perry as the BAD GUY?! I'm honestly stumped by this. He feels guilty just from breaking down Doof's door. He is way too nice for even his own good at times. Yeah, they fight...but it's their jobs. Like two players from different football teams going against each other. Yeah, they are rivals, but they can be civilized and friends even with the competition.

Well, yes. I get that. But i mean I've read stories where she and Charlene full out disown him, and won't have anything to do with him.

I personally can see her as an antagonist in a Doof/Perry story. In the sense that she's the only one that thinks it's weird/wrong, plus embarrassing for her, and maybe even tries to out him to her mom through-out the whole story. But by the end, when she finally has the chance to expose him...She backs out. Because she realizes just how happy Perry makes her dad. Maybe she still finds it embarrassing, at the end, but her heart wins out at the end.

Now if i wasn't so busy, I'd write that story.

He did very well against Major (and Carl) in the summer special, though. And quite often without Perry OWCA would just be fooled by Doof's genious plans (such as just telling everyone he was in charge). I imagine his plans would sort of fail eventually, but he'd give quite a challenge to Monobrow.

"...People have seriously done that? How....Perry as the BAD GUY?! I'm honestly stumped by this. He feels guilty just from breaking down Doof's door."
I think some people have problem crasping how their relationship works, and sort of focus on the hate. It's been present even in Perry/Doof stuff, mostly in the kind of "I-hate-you-so-much-no-wait-I-love-you-instead"-way. Which might make sense if it took place when they had just met, but writing Perry like he only thinks of Doof as an enemy at the time of the series is odd.

"But i mean I've read stories where she and Charlene full out disown him, and won't have anything to do with him. "
Yes, but it's sort of exaggerating the tension that kinda exists there to begin with.

"I personally can see her as an antagonist in a Doof/Perry story. In the sense that she's the only one that thinks it's weird/wrong, plus embarrassing for her, and maybe even tries to out him to her mom through-out the whole story. "
Yeah, I can see her being embarassed. She is embarassed just for Perry being her dad's nemesis, after all.

"Now if i wasn't so busy, I'd write that story. "
Someone I know [link] was working on a story kinda like that (though more as the nemesis-kinda way). Although I wouldn't be holding my breath for when he gets around posting it. He's worse about updating than I am.
