Today I had to say goodbye to Patrick O'Kitty O'Cat, my friend since March, 2002.
Paddy was a friendly cat who loved to sit on a lap and be petted and fussed over. He helped me watch many movies and read many books, and was happy to sit on me if I wasn't feeling too well.
He liked to drink water from the faucet in the kitchen sink, eat chicken and salmon skins, and lick ice cream, tomato sauce, and split pea soup.
Paddy liked to chase the red spot from a laser, chew on palm fronds and corn husks, and bite and snort at a catnip mouse. He did NOT care to chase real mice, however. He did like to be vacuumed.
He was VERY orange.
After seventeen years, I am going to miss Paddy a lot. So next time you have a glass of Guinness or some Irish Whiskey, give a toast to Patrick O'Kitty O'Cat.
