First submission of 09, what better than the Siberian Khatru

Cold reigning king,
Shelter the women that sing
As they produce the movement.
River running right on over,
Then over my head. outboard, river

You're welcome. :) Yeah I love artwork with a winter theme, and your stuff captures the mood very well. Glad to hear that you guys are doing good, sorry about the colds though. I finally seem to be catching a break from all the change of season sneezing and such. Whew!

Good to know a break from sneezing is at hand....We go through those allergy ralated times as well here sometimes..Winter is always good for the sinus's and for doing art and stuff....Me and C love winter time for the most part...I'll try to continue the winter looking pics till I burn out....*S*...And thanks for the kind words as always....Nice to know you enjoy the works put out here...

Winter time is nice.. when enjoyed from inside next to a fireplace with some movies and hot chocolate! But the recent cold snap has had me getting a little tired of it. Of course, it went to a drastic change of near 70 degrees today, so that was a relief. :)

I can so understand that, inside is awesome when its cold out and Me and C always strive for as much inside time as we can get. *L* Now as to the gettin hot then cold then hot etc?....We have had our fair share of that here too, Gotta love the bible belt climate change eh?

:)

Well I suppose I prefer that to say, an apocalyptic climate change, lol. I like the randomness of the weather though, keeps things interesting.

Hehe I like that and of course variety is indeed the spice of life....*S*

Actually the song is in the "Close to the Edge" album, not in Tales (I'm a closet Yes-maniac)... I always wondered what the heck "Khatru" meant :)

Well hell.......YOu are quite right, I coulda sworn it was on Tales. Thanks a ton and I will happily edit the entry and credits on this piece. And btw, great to meet another Yes-Nut....Did you get to see thier tour this past year?

Nah, I might live in the UK but I do live in the Sticks and away from civilization. I last saw Yes live in Buenos Aires, in the mid-90s I think, for the Talk tour, after missing them on their first visit to the country back in 1985-6 and being traumatised for life by doing so :) Still, I have to say I should credit Jon Anderson with about 25% of my English vocabulary, learning the lyrics while learning the language was quite the challenge :)

I haven't been following them that much of late, I bought religiously up until The Ladder, and just found myself going back to the classics and the rest gathering dust, so I stopped for a bit. Relayer is still something that gets played very often around here (and very loud) but most progrock I like doesn't work too well as background for programming, modelling or texturing (regular beats and steady music works better for that, for me; all the tempo changes and heights and valleys don't), so I tend to only bring it out when I have some illustration work in the pipeline. But for background for those fantasy pieces? *Brilliant* :)

I bet that was a great show and Buenos Aires has to be a beautiful city from what I have seen. I have only seen them once and that was in the mid 70's, and have never stopped listening to them since...You also seem to do very well with your english btw....

AS to relayer and loud....Hell LOUD is the best way to listen, and yeah, to put one into a fantasy mood, yes cannot be beat by much. I enjoy dream theater and rush though just about equally...BUt I can truly relate to the need for a particular musical journey to help teh creative flow along.

I grew up in Argentina, but I've been living in the UK for almost 9 years and I'm married to a brit, so I speak english daily and almost exclusively, with little spanish here and there when I speak to my mother and friends back there. I started learning english at 5, discovered Yes at 12, and started trying to understand wtf Jon Anderson was about with the lyrics soon enough and spent hours pouring over dictionaries and weird books to find meanings of words or more obscure references, so I still blame him squarely for a lot of my weird vocabulary and even weirder reading list. And if I ever see him without having a line of security guys between us, I'll tell him so :P

And yes, Buenos Aires is a beautiful city. I do miss it sometimes, but London reminds me of it a LOT when I go there.

Man if you understand Jon Anderson as well as you say, you should be writing songs as well...*S*...As far as a weird vocabulary?...I am sure for your home it was, but to the rest of us, well you prolly speak right on target.. :):):)

Nah, I said I *tried* to understand him. Still can't figure out wtf he was on about half the time, and the rest are just educated guesses.

Very well said then, and Oh I think back then there was a lot of blotter and microdot type acid going around...Might explain the wtf portion of your post to Me...*L*
