A snort post about why I've ceased to post regularly
I am not going to post when I don't feel it. Sometimes the inspiration comes and I feel full of zest. At other times I'm happy with a spicy aesthetic. And another times I just don't feel "in" and - despite of hundreds of AI-generated pieces in my stock - I don't go to publish any.
Why?
Simply because I don't feel myself in the mood and "connected". I don't feel inspired to pick any and the less I feel obliged to do so just to gain attention of "the algorithm" or extra views or likes.
My purpose is not to gain views or likes. I don't serve The Machine of it. I serve art.
Opinions of all kinds are very welcome 🖤
Each of my pieces contains passion and I don't just generate stuff to gain attention, views or likes.
My creed is that each of my pieces has to got passion or at least an aesthetical value that I feel worthy of appreciation. I won't ever descent into a generic femdom or fetish stuff.
Either for my soul or for my flesh - every single piece of my art has to make sense to me. The strong drive for the purpose is why I will never cease.
However "making sense to me" doesn't really sound as a business model, does it?
Bingo.
I'm not seeking for a profit. I just love my art.
Thank you for your support.
Well, that's a classical "The million dollar question", a bit similar to my previous post:
I've spent countless hours of tunning up (or down) my precious prompts to get the result my soul longs to be expressed and then... I just go down typing something like "vampiress laying on the bed" or "happy female lilith face" and I'm getting the holy damn best results in a certain settings of the AI?
Is it just lucky coincidence or...?
...am I so unoriginal that everyone before me had far better ideas (despite that the other engines give pretty awkward results on the same prompt)?
...I don't really understand how prompting wotks?
...Am I just overthinking things?
...I've teached the AI with my previous prompts that the simpe ones turns out to more "understand" me?
...or am I just an unicorn who is trying to find the way amongst the waves, including the AI waves?
I could easily ellaborate this thought further, but I will deliberately let it open and ask you for your opinitons.
Indefinite replies invited indefinitely, no judgments, no pushes, just genuine expression of one's feelings.
...which I don't exactly plan (but who knows what will happen?), but if I would...
...at the moment I would set this piece as my heritage:
Actually, it's pretty much all of my DA account
So if I someday disappear, don't be surprised, just take this one as summary of what I've been trying to express.
There are two mysteries for me on DeviantArt. One I can figure out and the other one I can't.
The first one is The Mystery of Number of Views
As a guy who is a bit acknowledged at the topic I can easily imagine this goes from some recommendation engine that (as I hope) tries to filter out a generic AI stuff in order to prefer more original art. However this all is done by AI anyway and the AI can't (and never will) be able to distinguish betwen art and similarity.
I've put the last sentence in bold on intention, because I feel strong urge to distiguish between ART and GENERATION.
The art is something that goes deep into your soul.
The generation is something that thrills, amuses, comforts, diverts etc.; occasionally gains some interest, but then... vanishes.
And here I'm going to put the second, more important mystery.
It's The Mystery of Favorites.
Whereas The First Mystery can be easily answered by existence of The Algorithm, the second one resides in the humans themselves.
There are some pieces of my art that receive a number of favorites compared to their views while there are other pieces that I evaluate as pretty good in artistic sense, they actually have some views, but they receive negligible favorites.
My intention is not how to gain more likes, but a plain curiousity; the discrepancy is sometimes really appealing and I would love to understand "the principle of fav-giving" here.
Actually, it's pretty notable topic:
Why I press the Add To Favorites button on an art?
And obviously, this is why I wrote this post.
Some of the best examples are here, fair number of views, but virtually zero favs till today:

However, the biggest outsider is "Goddess of fairies" with more than 2K views and not a single fav!

Once again, my aim is not to gain more likes or watchers. Far more precious for me is to understand what drives people to hit the "Add to Favorites" button and what makes them not to do so.
What do you think about this topic?
Why would you not give a piece the fav?
What drives you to do so?
Is the tumbnail saying everything to that extent that you say "OK, fine, well"?
Is this post for you just a more elaborated whinning "Why I don't get more likes?" shitstuff?
Let me know.
