Background Story or Bio: This sweet thing was very shy while growing up. Her father was a stern but patient fellow who was a well loved chief that advocated technology so that they stay one step ahead; he wanted Kai to take over when he retired and her mother was a kind soul but burdened with a terminal illness that was decimating her body. Kai's mother dedicated her time to spend as much as time that she had with her loved ones before time was up. Even though she was young, Kai can tell her mother was not well; it saddened her greatly and she was depressed. Her uncle, a carefree lad, saw that Kai was moping about. Feeling pity for the young shark, he decided to show her the world of surfing. Kai had a few rough bumps and wipeout but slowly grasp her footing. She became a natural but was reluctant to show off her skill until her uncle had a heart to heart. Eventually, she joined her first competition and won. She kept winning and winning until she was invited to a high-level comptition but...her mother's illness was running rampant and was told that she may not make it pass that time frame. Kai's nerves were utterly wrecked until her ailing mother told her this phrase that Kai adopted to this day, "You may be a Mobian but you have the power to make your life truly yours." With that said, Opal takes her last breath. Kai would go on to win the competition and it put her on the map as one of the hottest, rising stars in surfing. With her mom watching over her, Kai can go to unachieveable heights.
