I am both a digital and traditional artist; my favourite media are Copic Markers, Pen & Ink, Graphite, Photoshop, and Painter.
I am largely self-taught; I have only begun taking art classes in the past three years or so, and before that taught myself to draw.
When I was 11, I moved to England and lived there for 3 years before returning to America. For that reason, I use British English spelling and grammar and am more likely to default to British slang instead of American. Even though I am American ;)'
I am a student of German. I'm not fluent, but I like to hope that I am conversational, at least. :)
I have recently finished an Associate's Degree in Video Game Art at Austin Community College! I'm currently taking at least a year off from studies to work before moving on for a bachelor's in Communication Design at Texas Tech.
I'm originally from America's capital, Washington DC. Now I live in Austin, Texas, and don't plan on moving away except to go to Texas Tech.

I am hoping to eventually go to work at BioWare Austin as a conceptual character artist. (In my words, as an Art Peon.

Prepare for a Deviation Tidal Wave!
My LOVELY Watchers! I must apologise in advance for the upcoming influx of artwork. I've been behind on scanning and uploading sketches since August. (Distracted by the Job Hunt. And yes, it deserves to be capitalised.)
Mostly going to be sketches for my novel Heart's Discord. ...In face, almost universally HD stuff. If you're not following it... Either go to its LiveJournal (friends only, leave a comment on the guestbook entry to be added; naturally, you must be an LJ member) or ignore the sketches. Whichever suits you... I don't mind either way, since it's mostly in its rough draft right now ^^;

Birthday, Earthquake, Graduation!

It's a world gone astray...
So many of you have probably heard about the East Coast earthquake by now. As it happens, I was in DC at the time, and it was my first ever earthquake!
I'm fine, by the way.
EnigmaSphinx42 (https://www.deviantart.com/enigmasphinx42) is with me, and we were watching X-Men: Evolution yesterday when it came. Honestly, the whole thing had impeccable timing; it came right when Avalanche was making an earthquake of his own on screen. At first I could only feel the corner of the couch I was sitting on shaking, so I thought it was one of the cats pawing at it; then the gym equipment started to shake, and I realized, "holy crap, no way Rafiki is doing that!"

Absolutely! Your art is so gorgeous in general, but I've gotten back into Bloodlines recently, so I saw your entire folder of VtMB art and went "Insta-faves for EVERYONE!
I can't figure out if it was painted 2D in Photoshop or something, done with ZBrush, or photomanipped (Not in a pejorative way!) Kinda curious as to the answer to that, actually... ;)
Also, umm... mind if I use the VtMB art in a poster-replacer mod for the game? (For now, personal use only, but I may want to upload it later on, so want to go ahead and ask permission while I'm thinking about it. If no, the changed textures stay only on my own computers. :))
I begin with screenshots, filter out the extraneous stuff, then run a couple of passes through an AI program, then add the finishing touches in Photoshop CS (adding effects, fixing the eyes, changing colours, etc)
Sure, if you want to put them in the game itself. That's an awesome idea.
