None down, one up
Part 157 of Drachenwelt Chronicles
“Just remember, dragon scales are so though that not even missiles can break them. Or explosives. I'd target other, less protected areas like their eyes or inside of their mouth.” Range keeper said as his final farewell.
“We'll keep that in mind. You should evacuate though, I can't guarantee the fight won't move away from whatever is left of that ferris wheel.” John replied. Then both he and Jameson left to join the fight.
“How do I even use that thing?” Jameson asked?
“I'd tell you, but it'd take too much time and you have to find out quickly.”
“Graseth just sent me a mental message that that Seivoth moron somehow broke my work and is now coming at us with some of the dragons.”
“Yes. Look up.”
Jameson did as he was told to only to see a big group of about four dragons coming at the duo. “W
Fake guns vs. real deal
Part 156 of Drachenwelt Chronicles
Sometimes you need to do your job.
Sometimes you need to finish it.
The trick is to know when to do that.
Before your job becomes a liability.
John and Isaac were running through the park, towards the shooting range.
“What's the use, I mean this guy has only fake weapons.”
“You know that, I know that, those dragons don't know that. Besides, he may have some stash of actual guns.”
“What if they decide to call our bluff? Those dragons are so much like dragons from my world.”
“Well, then I'll have to use my powers. I don't really like to use them, but if I have to... Well, we'll worry later about that.”
“Okay, we're almost there.”
John looked up to see that the shooting range was close. Fortunately it wasn't damaged by the attack, it was to far away to have damage done to it.
“It's wise for you two to run away from that place.” Range keeper
Running away, calling for backup.
Part 155 of Drachenwelt Chronicles
“I'm saying we should contact Ian Wilson to get backup. Do you have his number?”
“Yeah, John gave me it just in case, let me get my phone,” Isaac said as he put his hand into the pocket in his pants. A moment later he procured a phone, fairly old model. “Here it is, he said as he dialed.”
“Daniel, can you use fire or something?” John almost yelled.
“Not fire, at least not in this form, but...” Daniel opened his mouth and some high frequency sound directed at nearest enemy dragon, particularly nasty blue one, making him deaf momentarily.
Then John noticed a change in dragons' tactics. Of course! They coordinated their attack telepathically. We need to do the same or we'll be defeated, but Daniel and Jameson won't like it. Well, though luck, John thought. Then he entered minds of Drake, Graseth, Jameson and Daniel.
Sorry for all who didn't want
Part 154 of Drachenwelt Chronicles
“You think you can defeat us, human? Our numbers are greater.”
“Well, about that...” John replied and sent his memories, especially bad ones, his thoughts, everything at the twelve attacking dragons, whom started to fall, holding their heads. “Now, everybody run, they won't be dazed forever! Go, go, go!”
“What about you?” Ada asked.
“I can take them. You see rollercoaster over there? This is where we were supposed to meet Ian. Go there. NOW!”
“I'm staying.” Drake said.
“I still don't like you, but I'm staying as well.” Daniel's expression was stern.
“Me? Running away from fights?” Graseth said in a hurt tone
“Reptiles stays, so I will.” Jameson stated.
“Fine!” John yelled. “Ada, at least take yourself and Isaac to safety.”
Ada only nodded and teleported away along with Isaac, who wanted
Part 153 of Drachenwelt Chronicles
“What... What the hell happened?” Jameson said as he woke up and sat up on the ground. He was near the ferris wheel, or at least what was left of it, surrounded by people he got to know in recent hours.
“Sorry about that, Jameson,” John said. “We didn't have time for another round of 'I don't think this dragon is good, but he is'. Now, we need to talk to our sleeping beauty.”
“Are you sure it's a good idea?” Jameson asked. “If that dragon is from that Order thing...”
“Don't worry, he will be able to only move his eyes and mouth once he'll wake up.” Isaac reasoned.
John quickly asked mentally Isaac how the dragon got knocked out. After seeing scenes with Daniel and Ada attacking red scum, he only nodded.
“Why you let Ada do this anyway?” John asked after short while.
“It was her idea and logic behind it was sound so...”
It's just a beginning
Part 152 of Drachenwelt Chronicles
“We should tell the others, especially that Jameson guy.” Ada said.
“Agreed,” Isaac replied. “I'm sending mental message to John right now.”
“What about him?” Daniel asked, pointing at the red dragon.
“I've already made it so he would only be able to speak and open his eyes after waking up, don't worry.”
“The fire? I've turned it off. John taught me few tricks.”
John suddenly stopped, then nodded his head.
“What is it?” Drake asked.
“I've just received mental message from Isaac. Long story short, some red dragon, probably from The Order destroyed the wheel, but both Isaac and Ada are okay, thanks to Daniel.”
“The Order?” Jameson asked. “I've thought you dealt with them, you told me so.”
“Sigh... I've though so as well. We must get to them and interrogate that d
Falling down, towards the danger
Part 151 of Drachenwelt Chronicles
“That view... It's wonderful,” Ada said when the capsule reached topmost point of the Ferris wheel.
“Yeah, it's quite a sight.”
“But I am worried, that this is all just a dream and I will wake up in that... house. Please, cover my eyes, make me believe it's true.”
“There's a light tonight, everything will be all right,” Isaac replied with confidence. “And that is not a lie.”
“Thank you.” Ada replied, then both of them felt a tremor. “What was that?”
Isaac looked around and noticed giant red dragon flying directly at the wheel. He was huge even by dragon standards and seemed to be very angry. “Ada... brace for impact, please.”
“What? Why... Ah.” Was all Isaac's female friend was able to say before dragon crashed into their capsule and dragon-sized one below them.
Both Isaac and Ada went flying down. Isaac menta
Part 150 of Drachenwelt Chronicles
“Wow, those look like real deal!” John exclaimed after seeing the weapons at the range.
“That because they are. Well, for the most part at least. You see, they're modified to shoot blanks only.”
“If they are,” Drake pondered, “how ducks and whatnot are falling down?”
“That's easy. There is a laser connected to the trigger, so aside of firing blank, it also fires a beam which is then 'caught' by the duck.”
“So, if I'd do this...” John started, then pulled from his pocket a laser pointer he bought earlier that week and completely forgot about until now, “...all ducks will fall.” John then turned pointer on and pointed on all ducks “swimming” by, which failed to fall.
“Sorry, forgot to mention that there is also microphone here to check if blank was fired at roughly the same time laser connected. So you can't cheat.
