Do you think I wouldn't tell you?
Part 125 of Drachenwelt Chronicles
John woke up, sweating. He knew he had some bad dream, but couldn't remember. He looked at his watch. “Well, at least I can turn off the alarm,” he thought, seeing it was almost six AM. John slowly made his way towards the bathroom so he could take a shower. John never, since he entered this world, stopped to think what caused it all. Maybe it was time to leave the past where it belongs now? “What's the price I have to pay?” He asked himself quietly as he finished. “I did some good things since I got there, but for what? The Kamatayon Order survived for some reason, despite my efforts to eradicate them, and innocent dragons died from the hands of dragon slayers because I forced The Order into hiding.”
It was understandable that John entered the kitchen in a not-so-good mood.
“What's wrong, John?” Aris asked.
“Just had a bad dream, nothing to worry about,” J
Can't even imagine how you feel
Part 124 of Drachenwelt Chronicles
Ada looked up and saw John, no, Isaac, this world's version of John, coming to her. Then he quickly stopped as if he walked into invisible wall or a force field.
“Go away,” Ada said. She was too deep in her dark thoughts and didn't want anyone, not John, not Isaac, not anyone, notice what was going through her mind.
“I... I just want to talk, Ada. Can't even imagine how you feel, but let's talk, okay?”
“Fine. But if you'll try anything...” Ada said as he dropped her barrier so Isaac could walk closer.
“I won't, I promise.” John's other self said as he was going towards Ada.
Isaac really felt sorry for Ada, for what happened to her. He'd never admit it to John or anyone else, but some of John's memories slipped through when he did that mental transfer which taught him how to use his psychic powers. Not all, but enough. Probably because they were in hurry back then and J
I'm so sorry for her
Part 123 of Drachenwelt Chronicles
Shortly after everyone got on that table, Ada got herself one of the cookies. It was roughly her size, but eating some of it made her feel better. She didn't really recover from what happened to her back in that hell place, what her foster “father” did to her was awful and she still had nightmares about it. She just got better at hiding her feelings, not wanting to make rest of her family, Aris included, sad. There wasn't much to be done anyway, except taking her to psychologist and perhaps psychiatric hospital. That was thing she was trying to avoid.
She saw John coming towards her, but she wasn't in the mood for talking.
“Hey, is something wrong, sis?”
“No...” Ada replied after few moments, hoping for John going away. Despite his powers even he couldn't help her.
“Are you sure? You look sad...”
“Oh John, you have no idea...” she thought. “It's just.
Part 122 of Drachenwelt Chronicles
Soon they were reaching Aris' place.
“So, how it comes I'm the last person you told about the fact you invited some friends over?” Aris asked as she landed safely.
“Um... You know, it just came up. Sorry.”
“Not a problem. Just next time please tell me sooner so I can prepare better.”
“Uh, okay. I'll try to remember that.” John replied. It was quite some time since he didn't have to rescue anybody. Young human still was bit bothered about that black dragon, especially after Isaac said he was actually holding back. Maybe he just wanted John alive? He was sure he'll figure it out eventually. He always did. But now it wasn't time of worries, it was a time for happiness and hanging out with friends. “C'mon, Isaac. I'll introduce you to my siblings.”
“I didn't realize you had any, I mean I'm the only child so...” Isaac mentioned.
“Well, they are
Not much off
Part 121 of Drachenwelt Chronicles
In dedication to all friends and families of victims of Charlie Hebdo and subsequent attacks. I feel very sorry for you – Darkhog.
Both John and Isaac raced to the school's main door. That turned out to not be such a good idea as John tripped over some dragon's talon. Fortunately “some dragon” turned out to be Graseth.
“Need a lift?”
“That wouldn't be too fair to Isa... Damn, he's too far away, I'll never catch up now.” John said as he realized that his “twin” decided to use the occasion to gain an advantage, pretty big one at that.
“There is a way, you know,” Graseth said as he lowered one of his hands so John could climb up.
“Fine, if he wants to play like that...” John spoke up, then climbed on.
After few steps of what was, to Graseth, a walk, the green dragon put John near where Isaac was few seconds earlier. Young human easily
Part 120 of Drachenwelt Chronicles
After the period was over, John walked up to Isaac.
“What are you doing here? And how did you make transfer so fast?”
“First of all, I've planned to get transferred to mixed class some time ago. And how I did end up here? Well, everything is right... there.” Isaac pointed at his head.
“You didn't... You know you shouldn't use this so frivolously.”
“Yeah, but that was the quickest way to get to this class. Probably could talk my way, but it would take too long. If that will make you feel better, from now on I'll use it only when my or someone else's life is in danger.”
“Guess I can't blame you or I'd essentially blame myself. And I'd probably do the same thing in your situation, so no hard feelings.”
“Something bothers me though.”
“What is it, Isaac?”
“That dragon who kidnapped my parents... Near the end his mental shield shatte
Part 119 of Drachenwelt Chronicles
“Fine, do whatever you feel need to be done. Just... don't get killed, okay?”
“I'll try, Aris, I'll try.” John replied as he was finishing his breakfast. Graseth got off the hook easily the previous day, he left before true scolding started. John knew that Aris was worried about him, he just didn't realized how much she was. “Did Ian called? I fear he might get away.”
“Don't worry, I think they got it. All the night docks were blocked off because some gas containers exploded.”
“Convenient.” John replied with appreciation.
“Isn't it? But now we have to go, you know school.”
“Do we have too?”
“Yes, Jeremy, we do. Now, let me put this on and we can go.”
“Sure, mommy!” Jeremy replied.
Aris stopped. She never thought that one of kids she adopted would call her like that, even though she treated them like she would
Part 118 of Drachenwelt Chronicles
John levitated a big crate upwards, towards the place where he and Isaac's parents were. Well, big for him. For any dragon it'd be relatively small one.
“Hop on it,” John said unceremoniously. Then he hoped on it himself. The crate could barely hold Isaac's parents and John on top of it and even that was hard fit. Despite that however, John was able to safely land the thing. That was when Isaac's parents ran up to their real son.
“We were so worried, John!”
“Yeah, I know mom. And sorry for that argument earlier. I shouldn't freak out over something so... minor compared to what my other self has been through.”
“We forgive you. We'll always forgive you.” Isaac's mom started to tear up.
John's heart started to ache seeing this show of love. So he occupied himself by calling Ian and telling him about the situation he was just involved in.
“You are true trouble magnet
Part 117 of Drachenwelt Chronicles
“Okay, Isaac, just like we talked: I'm going first through the portal, then you'll go after five minutes. They'll probably wait next to it as it is a logical mode of transportation for me to use, then they'll capture me. In those few minutes they'll probably walk away as they aren't expecting you.” John explained as he and his “twin”, called Isaac to avoid confusion were nearing the portal after Graseth dropped them off.
“I'm still uncomfortable with your plan, John. What would Leeshka or Aris say?” The green dragon frowned.
“I'm uncomfortable with it too. Normally I'd call at least Ian, but I don't want to put Isaac's parents in jeopardy. If that makes you feel better, after two hours without any communication will pass after Isaac's departure, you'll call Ian, Aris, Sadroth, Drogan and whoever else you can think of and tell them everything, okay?”
“Fine. I just
