What a crazy trip! We returned three days early due to bad weather (thunderstorms, freezing nights, and even snow yesterday!) and boy am I glad. I don't think my body could have handled another three days of hiking and shivering at night, let alone my mind. It's three weeks into summer vacation and I'm only now getting a bit of time off from school and research! Whew, what a semester this has been. o.o
Well, the trip was both good and bad (and I won't go into too much detail at the moment, but feel free to message me about it). The weather was unbearably hot at first, then wet and rainy. Sort of a Washington-from-hell attitude. The hiking was hard and I'm super tired of rocks, but I bonded with the other student researcher, Nicole Modun, over our shared misery. Nothing like complaining about geology while huddling under a tree on the side of a mountain during a thunderstorm to grow a fast friendship! We might have been miserable pretty much the whole time, but at least we had each other!
Anyway, I'll write more later or somesuch. Relaxing time now.
GLAD TO BE HOME!!!
