And sometimes tragedy is this simple. No tearful screaming fights; no star-crossed lovers; no climactic, bloody battle. No begging for one last kiss, no pleading for a deal with God or the Devil. No time for regret or denial or rage. No time, period. Instead, there is simply this: a stark hospital bed, stiff sheets, tubes and wires and humming machinery. There is only shock and confusion, and a terrible numbness that sinks into my veins. There is only his hand in mine, cold, and his closed eyes.
Love is watching someone die.

Poor Tanim. Always the one left behind.

Same deal as usual. Nothing good, but I feel like uploading things. Things being the dregs of the barrel that is my writing.

Shameless self-promotion!: [link]

I daresay; that was absolutely scrumptious! ^ ^
Aye... lush in it's capturing of essence and smart in economy of words ( delivering so much, succinctly ). I read it twice - which is a rarity for me when it comes to anything.

A small scratch for "numbness in my veins..." -- as I'm not sure that line really means anything. It's off, sounding a bit like one of those cliche things that all the kids say to be emo...
BUT --- you recovered so nicely with that ending line (PERFECTION), that I was immediately compelled to FAV the work, add this brief and bubbly comment --- and close with a sweetly whispered...

Hello and thank you.

Why, this is quite a surprise! Hello, hello. I'm very glad that you liked the piece. So little of what I write is really deviation material that I've resorted to just... posting things... and hoping people like them even out of context. It's gotten so very quiet around here, at least on my side, that I have to do SOMETHING to stir things up. Anyway, thank you very much for your kind words. It's good to know that someone is still reading. <3

And in a weak moment, you flinch, haunted by the fear of pain you will inflict when it is your time to go ...
you might, like a snail tucked back inside its shell seek hermitage, and break off human contact... or change friends and social clicks...

some start to eat better, heed others advice, not afraid of death, but afraid of burdening the others with guilt "but we told him to exercise more often".

Then you remember that life is watching others die, you speak your mind but bear no liability for what was not taken seriously .. ppl live and then ppl die, and one day it will be your turn... it is the only thing you can be sure of ... :)

(and yes I babble on and on... i like this piece, although its less poignant than your usual ones )

Lovely. I really wish I could digest a thesaurus so I could think of better ways to comment. :3

XD Thank you! And don't worry, I leave the worst comments imaginable. I'm always like "....I LIKE THIS. ITS PRETTY." and then run away. I'm terrible.
