Description

Seldom mentioned in records of the war, but more than worthy of recognition, was the 108 Medical Regiment of the UNITED EARTH COLONY ALLIANCE PACT (UCEAP) Medical Corps.
Comprised of some of the bravest men and woman in the force, these battlefield paramdeics were based on Earth and were attached to Mobile Suit Squadrons.
Working in teams of two, their task in battle was to assist pilots of downed mobile suits, administering first aid and, where possible, transporting them back to base.

Ignoring the fact that any human movement around a mobile suit battlefield was near suicide, the members of the Regiment were not armed, nor where they protected by any kind of treaty, making them as much a target as any regular soldier.
Armed only with courage, training and iron-hard determination, they became battlefield legends amongst Mobile Suit pilots. It became something of a good luck charm to buy a member of the regiment a drink whenever a solider would encounter them on liberty.

There is some record of rivalry between members of 108 Regiment (Terrestrial Combat Medics) and 208 Regiment (Space Combat Medics) over whose jobs were more dangerous; but it was mostly friendly. In any case, both 108 and 208 Regiments were some of the highest decorated units in the entirety of the war.

108 Regiment's motto was "Salus, aliquando alicubi": "Salvation: Any Time, Any Where"

Here; Warrent Officer Pyotr Maikov and Corporal Annika Lindqvist attempt to assist a pilot from 668 "Rolling Thunder" squadron whilst two AWS-04TC Messenger Mobile Suits from the same squadron move to provide covering fire.

yup, its another scene from my Original Gundam fiction: Gundam SCROLL. its not from any particular story i have, just an in-universe scene.

i wanted to do this after watching a bunch of Paramedic documentries. I was also inspired by *MeganeRid's work, and wanted to do something with a lot of detail in it... in that respect, i think i've succeeded.

some of the geometry and perspective is off, and parts of it are a little rushed, but i like how this came out over all. i'll post up the line-art too, so that you can get full appreciation of the details: [link]

Crits Plz. be nice!

UCEAP and Messenger MS designs (C) to me.

Gundam (c) yoshiyuki Tomino and SUNRISE.

Awesome amount of detail here! Nice use of blur to create depth and movement. You could probably blur everything behind the medics even more to make them really pop.

I'm guessing the gradient on the shield is from the gun flare, I don't think it's really working to suggest that though if that is the case. I'm not sure though how else to suggest that burst of fire. I'm thinking maybe instead of a smooth gradient you could have a sharp contrast with bright white areas and solid dark shadows?
