Species : Ailurus fulgens - Red Panda
The red panda is an arboreal mammal (not a bear), also called shining-cat, which comes from Asia (from Himalaya to western China).
It has a thick reddish-brown fur and a fluffy ringed tail which helps him resist cold in mountains up to 5000m altitude.
Bamboo is its favorite food, but it also feeds on berries, nuts, insects and even bird's eggs.
Size : 50-60 cm lengh (head and body).
Weight : 3-6 kg.
The red panda is an
endangered species.
