So as I promised earlier here's how I paint my Death Guard.

It's worth mentioning that I spray my Death Guard white and then black out anything that is going to be metal, dark green, gold, ETC

BONE ARMOR
Do two thin coats of Screaming Skull. Pick out the recesses and around the bolts with Seraphim Sepia.
Once that's dry clean up again with Screaming Skull and then highlight with white. I tend not to highlight every edge just the main/predominate ones.

SHOULDER PAD GREEN
Two thin coats of Waaagh Flesh, shade the recesses with Agrax Earthshade. Same as before tidy up with Waaagh and then highlight with Warboss Green and then edge highlight Skarsnik Green.

GOLD
Base coat with Retributor Armor the was with Agrax Earthshade, gold again and then highlight with Runefang Steel.

FLESH
Vallejo Flat Flesh (No. 70.955). Wash with Reikland fleshshade. Go back over the raised areas leaving the wash showing in the recesses and then use Pallid Wych Flesh for the highlight.

BOILS
Use the same technique as the flesh except the Pallid Wych Flesh should be(think white heads) and then paint Nurgles rot over the entire thing (disgusting!).

DIRTING UP
For the gold use Nihilakh Oxide, wash it into the recesses and around the bolts on the gold sections. You can use this on the black sections as well. I use it sparingly on mine.
For the rust use Typhus Corrosion follwoed by a dry brush of Ryza Rust on the metal areas. I'd plan out where you're going to use it. I tend to avoid any kind of moving parts as the rust wouldn't "take" there. You can spread the Ryza Rust drybrush beyond the "confines" of the Typhus Corrosion spots if you like, it makes it's feel a bit more "natural" to me. Oh and Nurgles rot applied to any kind of sore, boil or anything that could be considered "icky".

BONUS GUIDE!

NURGLINGS

Warboss Green, wash with Agrax Earthshade, go back over with Warboss then highlight with Skarsnik Green. Pick out any boils with the same flesh method as the Death Guard.

So there we go!

SO it took me a little longer than I thought it would but I finally added something new.
It's not that I've had nothing to paint it's just I haven't really found the time to post anything lately. So this is the first of my current project, Death Guard Chaos Marines.
I've already got two units, a character and the Blight Hauler painted up so expect so more pictures over the next few weeks as I strive to get caught up.

I'll also put up something relating to the whys and hows of my Death Guard  color scheme.
Myphitic Blight Hauler
While it may not be the first thing I painted for my Death Guard it's certainly one of my favorite models in my small force. He's a gribbly little cutie Daemon engine!
It's probably worth mentioning that the model itself is just one of GW's Easy To Build models but he's great

I wont go into to much detail about the way I painted this little guy, I'll probably do a separate blog post about that somewhere down the line, needless to say it's a real departure from what I usual paint.

Full confession time.
Between work and other things my painting time has taken a major hit.
I'm still working on Death Guard, I'm trying to get the first squad done at the moment.
The bright side is they look different to anything I've painted before and from what I've got done so far they look great.
It's 2018, so that means two things,

1. Time to take a break from Night Lords.
To be brutally honest I'm sick of painting dark blue and lightning bolts. It happens, I'll work on an army for awhile and then I'll get sick of it. I'll maybe come back to them at some point, I've still got a squad of Raptors to finish off but I'm in no rush to get them done.

2. SOMETHING NEW! (Kinda)
I've already started on my next project, Death Guard.
So I'm taking a break from Chaos Marines by painting some Chaos marines.... Okay that sounds silly but it makes sense, the Death Guard minis are so different from the normal Chaos Marine minis it is a change and it also works out as a sneaky way of expanding my Chaos stuff. I've got the first model already as I had to get the Champion with the "sassy" Nurgling.
I've put the little guy on his own base! I'll use him as a tag along for the squad or a command point marker.

I'll be posting pictures when I get stuff done as usual.

I hope everyone has a great 2018!
