I've just been to my first national science fiction and fantasy convention, Au Contraire 2013. It was an absolute blast. Highlights were the filking; the literary GOH speech, from which I gained the concept that perhaps trying to get a "real publisher" might not be so good an idea, and a resolution to buy a Kindle or similar e-reader despite my love of paperbacks; the filk competition, which I managed somehow to win; the board gaming; the late-night filking; the costumes; the speed-filking; the market, at which I sold a chainmail necklace, and several decorated cards with people's names written on in Quenya; oh and did I mention filk singi...

This morning I dreamed about dreaming about dreaming of a really beautiful landscape. It was roughly bowl shaped. It had some close mountains, in a very U-shaped gap you could see a further green mountain. There was a waterfall and a lake. On the other side there was a river and a town. In the town was a single multiple-story corporate building. They had built a fountain on top to look like the waterfall I mentioned first. I thought it looked pretty so I sketched it carefully attending to all details. Then I dreamed I woke up from that part of the dream and remembered that I had sketched it, so I got a piece of paper and sketched it again....

Over the last couple of months I have been finishing off a good deal of stuff and then forgetting to go to Embroiderers Guild where I can put it on the New Work table.So here's some of it.
