Description
Way back in February of this year, I re-watched Don Bluth's Anastasia and fell completely in love with it. Seeing that there were dolls available, I decided to purchase some (used) from Ebay and customize them.
I went ahead and gave Dimitri a new body since his original one was so hard and stiff, so he has articulated elbows and wrists now. Anya's body wasn't nearly as bad, so I left hers alone.
Both dolls received complete face repaints and customized outfits. Dimitri's shirt and vest were purchased from Ebay, and I altered the color of the vest a bit with fabric paint. His pants were some that I found in a box of old Barbie clothes I had stored away. (His belt and watch were made from the leather cord I used for Anya’s belt plus a few other supplies I had laying around.)
Anya's leggings and shoes were from a separate Anastasia doll I bought, but her dress, bow, and necklace were made from scratch. I don't have access to a working sewing machine (>.<), so I followed this no-sew dress pattern and added sleeves with fabric glue when I was done. It's not… functional, but I don't mind much. I'm not planning on ever taking it off. XD
More pics/better views of these dolls can be found on my Tumblr!
I'd like to give credit to some of the YouTube doll customizers I've been watching over the past year and a half who helped me A LOT with this project - Dollightful, Seasonal Frostbite, HeXtian, and Poppen Atelier. Please check them out sometime! They are absolutely amazing artists!!!
I have a few other doll customization WIPs, but I can't say when they'll be finished - I tend to work on them off and on over long periods. But I'll show them off when I eventually do finish them!
Please enjoy!!
